Paul Cullen has always reminded me of mayor Quimby from the Simpsons . Especially with his typical "erm" start to a sentence !!

Just drawing his thoughts together, I mean, be fair, as the expert guest in the studio he was quite taken aback to be asked a question....

Maybe "expert" is a bit extreme?

Did you note on Boots n All , that when asked to comment on whether the Bulls would improve next year? John Kear gave a reasoned answer to the question asked, whereas PC gave us one of his famous attacks on how we stole the integrity of the League by not living within our means, and buying players with money we didn't have to play against the teams we begged money from so that those players could play against them. Very professional answer to what otherwise was a straight question.

We've all had issues with the way the club has been run in the past but Cullen seems to miss the whole point about playing professional sport.

Of course we used the money we got to buy players. That was the whole point of it being given in the first place; so we could have a team to play against the clubs who helped out. If we didn't have a team on the field after they gave, it would have been totally pointless for them to give us the money because that is how rugby teams make their money - playing matches.

Talk about unable to see the wood for the trees.

And he was wrong in that?

I've always liked Cullen, as a player, coach & summariser. Far more eloquent than some of the other prats on there. He does go on but it is entertaining.

It's very subjective to be fair and I'm not even sure there is a definitive answer to your question.

Let's take it bit by bit. 'Stole the integrity of the league', is specious at best, and in truth nothing more than plain, empty rhetoric or more likely just pretentious twaddle. In any case, the league had already sold its integrity long ago, as any fan will tell you, when they, a) started using substitutes, b)went to six tackles, c) reduced it further to four tackles, d) put tries up from three points to four, e) moved to two divisions, and brought in promotion and relegation, f) reduced drop goals to one point, g) went to three divisions, h) shacked up with Murdock, i) started to play in summer, j) shafted Keighley, k) started SL and got rid of Promotion and relegation...ZZzzz. so suffice it to say, subjective or not, for whatever reason you personally may choose, everyone agrees that the RFL hasn't got any integrity left to lose.

As for the charge of 'using money given etc etc.......' please see my earlier post above.
