The major asset in the first half was that we had the "class" Gale on the park for once. He controlled the first half with some very creative kicking, and two sublime passes creating tries, also one absolutely crucial tackle. Why he can't play up to something like this level more often is a shame. Obviously being behind a pack going forward for once made a difference.
We didn't do as many schoolboy howlers as usual, though we got away with a couple by the skin of our teeth, but you could feel the tension in the second half, all the more so when Wakey went in. But today, everybody was up for it and overall the tackling effort was very good.
