Dear Marc Green
I have read your statement issued yesterday… Here is my response;
Quotes from Mr Steve Ferres dated 29th March 2014.
“I’d like to see the three players we've lost replaced. If we can get a couple of props in then it helps Francis, and if there is anything available beyond that we will look at it.
“We’ve got to look at what Francis needs and his requirements for the short, medium and long-term.”
Since that date – other clubs have managed to recruit players where we have only managed a variety of 1 month loan spells – which is a complete waste of time.
However, I have to say that missing out on the opportunity to re-sign Gareth Carvell to end of season has particularly annoyed me.
If ever we needed a straight running, hardworking prop who can offload in a tackle – its now.It would have been good if more than some extraordinary effort had been made to bring him back.
As a fan, I have no idea if that effort was made, if it was and he did not want to return – then that’s just another very bad sign for the Bulls.
If we cannot attract players – we are in real trouble and that needs to be addressed.
If it’s the case that you never even tried to bring him back – then the quotes above become even shallower.
“We’ve got to work hard to give the club some credibility and to engage with the fans because Bradford have been through a very traumatic period and limped along from one disaster to another"Well this one is a belter isn’t it?
At the very least, there should have been at least ONE fans forum by now with you, Robbie Paul and Steve Ferres (and a coach) in attendance to meet and face those of us who have questions to ask.
To date – there has been NO two way contact and NO encouraging news or announcements – only pleas for support.
So please do tell me – 13 weeks on from wishing to engage with the fans – when will this happen?
Who Am I? A fan that stepped inside Odsal in October 1964 and was bitten and infected then and remain so today. I have bought two season tickets every season since 1994 and barely attended any games since Steve McNamara killed off the team. I cannot take the depression any more. I spent £500 to visit Catalan V Bulls knowing it was likely my last chance. The 80 minutes there was the lowest point of a three day stay.
I am at the point where my habit of buying season tickets as a form of donation is in real doubt.
Why is this?
Because I do not have a clue what the plan is now or for the future.
If you were to present your pleas for investment in Dragons Den in the same way you present them to us fans – you would be sent packing.
Over to you Marc?
