Was going to say that's a bit optimistic, but then realised that it's only Batley so in terms of travel it's not a huge diatance

Batley is only 3 miles from my house, nearer than Odsal.

I liked Tommo.

For sure he wasn't the most consistent performer we ever had, but he was very much the extrovert with some of his stuff. The sort of player who generally makes watching RL such a pleasure, in fact.

A stand named after him in Batley? Well, good on him and good on them, I say.

I don't know what is in the information in the preview by a previous poster, so sorry for any repetition.
Car parking around the ground is limited. I have heard rumours that Fox's biscuits are allowing the club to use their car parks, which are off the steep hill going up to the ground. As mentioned, there are spots in the town where you can park then enjoy a leisurely stroll up to the ground, probably about 20 minutes.
Visiting supporters can go anywhere in the ground, it is one of those ever so rare grounds where anyone can access any part of the ground at any time, and I have not heard that the club will be restraining access at all.
It is a great place to watch rugby, with a friendly social area behind the GT stand where supporters usually mix, enjoy a drink and the excellent food on offer.
I would suggest getting their early both to get a decent parking spot and to enjoy the facilities before the match.

Am I thinking of the wrong Batley, then? AFAIR, there is a maze of little roads across the main road where there are no parking restrictions?

There are a maze of little roads around the ground etc. but many are now permit holders only - and its densely populated too - no yellow lines but signs to say so..

Mosque (if in use) won't help.. from what I have witnessed - its a car dumping exercise.
