Matty may be having a week or two off. He was involved n a punch up v Newcastle which saw both protagonists yellow carded. I suspect the fact the ref felt he had to treat both the same and didn't want to send off the Newcastle player as he was being taken off for medical treatment may have saved Matty from a red. A striking charge from the RFL wouldn't surprise me.

Might as well leave him at Oxford next couple of weeks, he can serve his ban on the 17th when we don't have a game.

Seems only right. No one can say it's dodgy as that is where he picked it up - if indeed he does.

Thing is blythes not on loan he's dual reg which is on a game by game basis. Would imagine he'd have to be available to play before he becomes eligible to be made available to Oxford. Other thing is he won't go before disciplinary til next week if he is cited.

I could imagine that being the case if he'd copped a ban whilst playing for the Bulls, as people would [rightly] have said we were using it as a cop out to evade part of the ban. Thing is he got the ban [if etc] playing for Oxford, so there is nothing, not even slightly, untoward about counting their games in the ban period. In fact, it seems totally illogical not to count their games, to be fair.

We'd not be the first club to cynically exploit the rules in such a fashion.

No, I'm sure that's true, but my point was that, since the incident was whilst playing for Oxford, we couldn't logically be exploiting the rules anyway. It's not as though we'd shipped him out there just to avoid missing a game.

Matty has been charged, 1 - 2 games likely. Adam was binned in a separate incident and got sin bin sufficient which always seemed likely tbh. I'm guessing Matty will have to sit out the next round or two whether he was likely to be in your squad or our squad is irrelevant to the disciplinary bods.
