A couple of weeks ago I thought it would be nice if Salford went down so we could sign Dobson and the ex leeds centre - Jones Bishop - I think that is him!
I don't think we would need a clear out - just half a dozen quality players with about 22 of the better ones we already have.

Similarly I hear that there's a big giant of a prop at Keighley tearing up some trees, along with a young scrum half called Brook I believe.

I guess we are not seeing some players because the club is saving money (Maximising profit) If players are going to be waiting around for a game then as much as the bulls pay their wages still, they invoice the other club for the players services. As I understand it. It makes business sense. Is that probably why JL is not rotating anything?

In theory it does but we may be still paying their wages. Probably depending on if we have been approached or approached other clubs to offload those needing game time.

There is also the thought that some may be on a contract which gives more money for a certain number of appearances, so not playing them might be a way of saving cash - with all that's gone before, it goes without saying that I'd be both desperately unhappy and extremely disappointed if that were the case.

Can't say an experienced hooker would be very high on my priority list for additions obriens doing fine and his two backups look useful enough. Best way their going to improve further is by actually getting game time and gaining experience themselves rather than sitting on sidelines watching a more experienced guy IMO. It's not like we don't already have a couple of fairly well regarded 9s coaching to point out where they can improve is it?

Scrum half and some extra pace in backs are biggest areas we could do with looking at IMO.

Flipping things around slightly, who would you release from our current squad?

Currently ooc at the end of the season are:

Mullaney
Purtell
Baile? (not sure on this one)
Henry
Petersen
Walker
Mellor
Conroy
Halafihi
Shaw

Out of that lot I would release Purtell, Petersen and Walker. Still undecided on Henry.
Definitely offer new deals to Mullaney, Mellor, Conroy and Shaw. Halafihi can get a new deal depending on how the rest of the squad shapes up.

It seems harsh on Petersen, I had high hopes for the kid coming in to this season, but he hasn't had a single minute of first team action. Whether that is because of injuries, Jimmy's selections or simply that he isn't good enough, we'll never know (unless the club offer him a new deal).

Phillipe-Baile is ooc at the end of this season if I've got it right. 11 appearances but not been totally impressive, though with Purtell and Blythe being such a classy and solid duo he's going to struggle to get a game at centre, imo when everyone is fit.

Keep Mullaney, Purtell, Mellor, Conroy, Shaw, Halafihi.

Like to keep Baile but heard on Grapevine he is homesick.

Walker is past it imo, Henry not upto it. Peterson and simply haven't seen him.
