Absolutely, and there is nothing wrong with that. You play to the rules you are given. The sad thing for teams that are fairly confident that they will be in the qualifying 8's is how do you get people to watch the first 23 legs.

Could we be after Ridyard from Leigh?
Rumours on their board that a yorkshire club are after him, and if Leigh do end up with Chase then he might find himself losing the 6 shirt and might want out.
Probably wishful thinking but I guess that's what this thread is for

Winning matches helps and that's one of those strange advantages of playing at the top of the Championship as opposed to playing at the bottom of Super League. It will be interesting to see if our crowds are affected as we enter a second year.

It's even more difficult when 'winning the league' isn't the aim.

The purpose is to get into the eights and then the MPG. Unfortunately, as everyone knows, the majority in this league are semi-pro and that means the players know they don't need to kill themselves to make the top four and qualify for the eights, so you get results like we got in the early part this year. Sadly, going through the motions until the other team is knackered doesn't always make for top quality watching.

Maybe we do need to challenge ourselves to be top of the league?...and by the biggest points margin?

Not a clue. We've played garbage for a large number of games and ended up going all the way to the MPG. I'll return the question and ask if you or anybody else has any ideas.

I'm concerned that whoever we sign of SL standard will become de skilled and sufficiently unenthused that by the time the Qualifiers come round again they will be a shadow of their former self. Maybe we need to sign players that have something to prove and hope that the coaching environment can help them reach their potential. I would be very surprised if the recently acquired players at Leigh are able to maintain Super League standard after a few months in the Championship, if our experience is anything to go by.
