Well as long as Lowes is actually going to employ a squad rotation policy next year, then this isn't a bad signing.

But I doubt he will, even though it was clear that Sidlow and Clough are being asked to do far too much work every week while other props can get away with a 10 minute a week stint.

Well, it looks likely that Addy will be playing in the halves with Gaskell rather than at 13, so that leaves 7. Ferguson, Pitts and Olbison seem most likely to be first choice, however given the depth we have, surely it makes more sense to rotate around so that everyone stays fresh and our pack is always match fit and ready

you would hope that he has learnt that flogging the front row to death is not a good idea. Nor is signing a wrecking ball that cannot in fact punch through tissue paper. Hence Walker, etc etc. Half back is more the conundrum.

I thought the plan was to have a smaller squad this year not a bigger one?

Unless there is a fundamental shift in policy by Lowes, then the first four named will be named for every game regardless of how they play, and the rest will be kicking their heels or sent out on Dual Reg

Very puzzling...

Have they confirmed Karl Davies as leaving yet? I assume he's gone, but I've seen nothing official. If he hasn't (and I do class Kavanagh as a prop personally), that's 9.

On the plus side, it might mean Fleming gets nowhere near the 17, as he's a poor man's Chris Feather. Massive bloke, but got no punch at all.

Decent if unspectacular signing. Never understood the benefit of giving a bench spot to Lauaki if he's only ever going to turn up for ten minutes.

To be fair to Luaki, he turns up when the rest do and does as he is told. If his bosses are happy, why should he worry?
