You hope that it's not a family or health issue for Rowley, as he's one of things I didn't really dislike about Leigh. More likely something between him and Beaumont I would say.

I questioned the wisdom of signing players who were percived as bad apples at Salford. It would be a shame if players of that ilk have caused the same sort of disruption that was seemingly going on behind the scenes at Salford last year to occur at their new club and forcing out a well liked and respected manager.

Could be that Beumont has run his mouth as he is known to do and perhaps he tried to dictate team selection (although for all his faults, I don't think he'd be stupid enough to rock the boat in that fashion)

I doubt we'll ever know the truth behind it. But look on the brightside, a wheel has come off our main rival in the league before the season has even started.

Jack Dearden of Radio Manc says on twitter that there is "likely to be more news emerging around Leigh" - good or bad, I'm unsure but it doesn't sound as if it will be good. We'll have to wait and see.

Hope Robbie can keep his mouth shut over this latest news, we know how obsessed he is with Leigh

Well, that's a shock, and firstly, personal reasons can be personal for a reason. I do sincerely hope there is nothing too serious and that Rowley gets another job in RL when he's ready as I have a lot of time for him and he got Leigh playing some fantastic Rugby League.

However secondly, as a Bulls fan, from a purely sporting perspective this can be nothing but good news for us. The talented and well respected coach of our major rival quitting on the eve of the season will destabilise them, now it just depends on the replacement, I'm guessing they'll be no shortage of candidates...Iestyn Harris has worked with most of the new Leigh recruits so I reckon that'll be their best bet ...so agent Harris, apply today. Or maybe our mate Derek fancies a go himself??

Also, this news does feel a bit like we're waiting for the other shoe to drop, is there some other connected news that hasn't broke yet?

This could be really bad for Leigh - the boat has been well and truly rocked before the season starts, and if you look at their run in, they have London 3rd game of the season, then us, Sheffield, then fax. That's pretty tough under a new coaching regime that no bugger is used to.

I reckon big oaf Beaumont's prediction of 100% win rate through the normal league season will be well and truly over within the first 6 fixtures. I think with this they even have the potential to lose a couple - maybe to us and fax.

In the words of Kevin Keegan: "I would LOVE IT if they lost".

Rowley was a class hooker in his day and hasn't done too badly as a coach, so he must be doing something right. I always felt he looked really uncomfortable in that shot of him, last season, walking down the steps and Beaumont screaming, god knows what, in his ear'ole, and I actually thought he looked like resigning then.

I'm sure he'll soon get job.
