Bradford had the chance to share with Park Avenue when Avenue still had the gorgeous Park Avenue ground. With plenty of surrounding room for development, too. The fact that instead that lovely old ground was allowed to go derelict is one of those things Bradford as a city is somewhat of a specialist in.

Aye the BPA ground could've been like Headingley with the cricket on one side and the rugby and football on the other.

What a missed opportunity.

I often hear about ancient old relics in Bradford needing an immediate facelift. I always thought that they were talking about you FA?

As for a ground-share at some new ground, there's 10,000x less chance of that happening than of us getting promotion this season, so it isn't worth serious consideration.

Your still thinking along the lines of Green taking over Bulls because he likes rugby. He wants his money back and the best way is developing Odsal.
He develops Odsal, and shares the new ground with the Germans who no longer have to pay Flamingo Land

I think that we are all quite aware that that is never going to happen.

And when did I say I thought any such thing, then?

rugbyreddog wrote:

On what basis do you make that claim? It sounds like nonsense to me. What money, for a start? And if it would be an easy route to riches to "develop Odsal" - why has no-one come in and made this easy money before?

More to the point - in that case - why not just stand by and let the club fold, THEN negotiate a deal to buy?

rugbyreddog wrote:
He develops Odsal,

Just out of interest, how much do you say it would cost to
(a) buy the lease (from RFL)
(b) buy the freehold (from Council)
(c) "develop" Odsal?
(d) what would the interest charges alone be on the finance needed to achieve all that?

Interesting. Last I heard, City had a lease on VP until about 2026, £370,000 pa. They also lease the office block for a similar sum. Why would their landlords let them off those payments, then?

So why did Green take over Bulls if not to try get his money back. He was after all the biggest creditor. Or are you saying that now he owns them all his debts are wiped clean. Perhaps you could ask his bank manager whether he is in a better state now than he was before he got involved with the Bulls. He was convinced by the RFL that the only chance he had was to take them over instead of the previous applicants. Make your own mind up whether the RFL where being disingenuous or not.

The phrase politically correct is in itself politcally incorrect so should be rephrased politically stupid!

If you like old type radio comedy/ dramas etc listen to //pumpkinfm.com/

Statistically speaking you have a better chance of getting dead the older you get!

Re: New Owners : Fri May 27, 2016 6:51 am
I'm sure Marc Green stated a while back he took over the Bulls to protect his initial investment that was a loan to the old company, somewhere along the line he got bitten by the sports bug and it looks as though he wants the Club to succeed as it protects his investment and then perhaps down the line sell on and get it back, didn't he state at last weeks forum that the ground purchase with the Council was proceeding and seemed optimistic of a resolution in the not to distant future the lease with RFL if I remember is still ongoing!

I'm sure he states that at every forum and it never seems to move any closer.
