Indeed, as greg said you just place the bets so you get the same net result, cashwise whatever the result of the event.
This qualifies you for the free bet
Then do exactly the same with the free bet.
It works because now you can actually collect the winnings (although not the free stake).
For a £30 free bet I would expect to make around £25 profit, give or take a quid. You're not "wasting" aything. You are using a legitimate way of cashing out most of your free bet.
But I know it sounds too good to be true, and so I guess that is why so few do it. But it is true.
Anyway, for the doubters, I can make it easy peasy. Just go to this site, pick one of the easy offers, and read what it says on the tin. Follow it step by step - it will tell you exactly what to do and how to do it. And collect your free money. http://www.savethestudent.org/matched-b ... utomatcher

But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid."― Albert Einstein "Everybody gets so much information all day long that they lose their common sense." ― Gertrude Stein "Don't believe everything you read on the internet" ― Abraham Lincoln
The bookies won't hate you - statistically the "bookies" side of your bet will lose as often as it wins, so unless you give the game away, you'll usually stay under their radar.

You don't understand how bookmakers work then if you believe that.
You are taking long term value and that affects their bottom line, it's irrelevant whether your bet wins or loses to them.

Er, having worked for them for over 20 years and knowing a few personally, I think I have an idea
Of course it is relevant to them whether you win or lose. Accounts where serious money is won over a sustained period will almost always be closed down. Those will not be matched betting accounts as you can't win serious money on opening a new account or taking the occasional offer for existing punters.
And they can't tell whether I, as a new punter, am taking long term value, as my few pennorth is by itself statistically insignificant (which is why freebies are usually measure in no more than £20s or £50s).
But if there's anything you need to know, at all, about bookies then don't ask me, ask mcmad

As I said, you really do not understand it. Its all based on value, anyone taking value over a period of time will be restricted. If you think they are not worried about people matched betting you are also wrong, the bookies themselves estimate that people doing what I do costs them millions over time hence why eventually most matched bettors get their accounts restricted, that and the fact that most bets to trigger the offer are done on bets that offer very little value to bookie does not help.
You think the bookies can't tell whether you are taking long term value? Never mind the bookies, I can tell you after just a few bets if you are taking long term value and again going back to matched betting someone doing a qualifying bet at min odds and then using their free bet on high odds is going to stand out like a saw thumb. The amount of accounts that myself and thousands of others have had restricted or closed down over the years despite being "losing" punters is testament itself to say the bookies know what they are doing and who they do and don't want as customers.
Its not rocket science that thousands of people taking large 5 figure sums out their industry is not going to make them happy. The fact that there are so many offers available that it is possible to do this full time and earn more than your average Joe doing a 9-5 just shows not only how big this has become but also just how big a problem it is for the bookies.
I'm not crying any tears for the bookies though, I think its a scummy industry and any money I can take out of their pocket and put in to mine and my friends pockets keeps a little smile on my face.
I really do. In fact I'm involved in an operational scheme as adviser. It's doing very well.

But I don't think that, athough maybe "worried" is not the word I'd choose. Like most or all aspects, the bookies work hard to cover all the bases. I'm well aware what they do, and indeed what the typical bookies' T&Cs contain, and what is likely to get your account pulled, and what's not.

I think we're at cross-purposes mate. My question was about how many people have done the rounds of the dozens of free bet intro offers and made the couple of grand that you certainly can.
Trying to make significant money month-in month-out isn't that, and yes, I agree bookies only want normal mug punters, but plenty of mugs win money from time to time and the trick is to decrease the odds of getting rumbled. Which is kind of what we do. I have only had 1 account closed personally although I am no big punter and don't have the time as I have a day job.

Indeed it is. And the fact that there are many thousands of punters doing very nicely is testament to the fact that it can be done and is being done. But, I think that you need to get yourself into the Asian markets to do it longer term and for larger money.

I don't see the free money from offers as a big problem for either UK bookies or else they wouldn't give the offers. I assume across the board the offers must attract more cash than they pay out, because if they didn't, then they would either change the rules, or else stop doing them. I reckon the fact that half the bets are placed on the exchanges, rather than with bookies as such, is the reason, as on the exchanges you're not taking money off a bookie if you win.

It has a scummy side, but it has always had a very positive side too, millions love a bet and I was brought up on betting and racing, I've always loved it and without the bookies it wouldn't have been the same. And indeed, everyone would love it, just love it, if they beat the bookie. Keep up the good work!! If you ever get any decent tips, PM me and I'll do the same, although tips ain't what they used ta be
I have read all this and the link that FA put up, but I still don't understand it. In simple terms, are you putting two bets on with two bookies for different things, meaning that you are guaranteed to win? Or is it more complicated?
