Well they talk about 'middle unit players' nowadays - prop forwards and loose forwards, pretty much all the same thing...

Interesting point about him continuing to work for his families construction business on the estimating and pricing side - is the hybrid model already upon us?

Outside interests/businesses have been actively encouraged by the RFL for years now. It's all part of player welfare. Getting qualifications in sports related activities and delivering them in your days/afternoons off is fine. Gyms/personal trainers are the obvious ones. Wilkin has his cafe business in Manchester. The academy lads are getting trades, doing teacher training (PE), sports nutrition, physio/rehab.

Davies still trains as much as the "full time" players. Works his PTing around training.

Nice to see us recruiting a prop though who has a little bit of pedigree behind him. On paper a better signing than Davies and will probably be better than Kirk at the moment due to experience.

Also very happy with the initial 3 month signing. At least we haven't given a long contract to someone who we don't know will be here next year or not like we have in the past!
