Perhaps Lowe and Chalmers might know somebody in Australia/New Zealand that they've earmarked to succeed Toovey?

I really don't see the point in getting an aussie coach for where the Bulls will be at next season. First of all their salary will be higher purely because of any NRL experience they have, and secondly what would any aussie coach possibly know about League 1 and the teams we're likely to be playing next season?
I'd much rather we recruit someone with some League 1 experience, somebody who knows what it will take playing in that division next season and someone with plenty of knowledge about the sort of players we should be targeting when we build our 2018 squad.

Naylor and/or Greenwood for me, but I'm sure that the club has some obscure name lined up.

Greenwood seems most obvious one or maybe naylor. Wouldnt rule out Harrison. They've said there already someone out there identifying targets on clubs behalf and that sounds likely to be Harrison. With his agents hat on, it would almost be worth him doing our coaching role for free, to give him access to our academy structure.

thought Leon was pretty much lined up as assistant coach next year? he's still working at club in commercial department last I heard.

Not really sure we would have our pick. Not offering much to any prospective coaches except a good chance of going unpaid for several months during Admin

So Lee Greenwood quits at Gloucester hoping to be offered a coaching role 'closer to home'. Then we hear Geoff Toovey is probably going back to Australia ...

Whoever we get I just hope he is an ambitious young coach who is ready to make a name of himself.
Someone who will develop our own players so the youngsters in the area see that it is a good idea to sign for us.
Karl Harrison did say on radio a month ago that he could be tempted back to Odsal so don't rule him out. His knowledge of the game at this level would be valuable even if he was backing up a young coach like Kear does at Wakey.
A wild card could be a Lowe/Chalmers young coach from down under - a bit like when we brought Matty Elliot over who did all the coaching and Smith got all of the limelight. Someone like that with say Greenwood as assistant would be OK.
I certainly can't see Toovey staying and doubt his suitability at signing players and coaching at our new level.

Toovey definitely offski, he just signposted it last night to let us down gently - not a massive loss for me.

I like the thought of someone like Greenwood, no baggage, smart, articulate, thinks a lot about the game and how it should be played, and can take us forward over the longer term.

Let's break with the past and look forward

Whoever we get, please lets not leave it till half way through the season.
If Toovey really is bothered about "what's best for the fans" - just make your decision; whatever it is - and lets crack on with preparing for next season.
