No, he's tweeted a few times that Bradford will be back in SL within 3 years...granted the RFL kneecapping us last season didn't help but the tweets were less 'confidence' and more statement of fact.

I wonder where we would be now if he had bought us back then and put in 5 Million + set Chalmers on at the time to run the club. I am not keen on him but am starting to trust Chalmers more and more as time goes by.
If MK came in along with Chalmers some time in the future, well, there is thought that would produce many pages on here. I still wouldn't rule it out!

Nothing surprises me anymore.

We're making steady progress and that's the way I like it. No grandstanding. Promotion to the championship is vital but achievable. After that it's about consolidation there and building again. I've a feeling that SL status may be down to franchises in the future rather than straight promotion and relegation. So if we're to get there we need to be a stable business, get good crowds, have a proper link to community clubs and a good youth set up. We're on our way. The only things lacking are the ground and the extra money you need to be fulltime and recruiting the best players. I don't think Chalmers can afford to get us to SL on his own.

Agreed.
Our main target this year is promotion but Chalmers seems determined to also build other things such as youth development, A team and the ladies team. These things could easily be ignored for now but no, he is keen to sort these now.
It does make me feel that he knows what the criteria may be if franchising comes back and he is getting that ready just in case.
Even the ground I now expect some news in the next 12-18 months. We won't need a new ground by 2020 - just proof that it is happening otherwise Wakey and Cas would struggle.
I get the feeling that Chalmers is there to do the hard work at ground level to help us tick all the boxes but there are people or person in the background helping financially and will then come into the open when the time is right.

Stadium wise, to fan the flames, the work started on Dickie Dunns replacement last Monday. You could fit a nice stadium/RFL HQ/Museum on that parcel of land Lets all get the lottery on tonight!

I'm sure "Arnold" Rimmer said the club needed a few years of stability before discussions about the lease/stadium etc would be on the agenda.

Could the constant restructuring that we see be a contributing factor to the declines in participation of RL? I can't help but think that it could have disenfranchised a significant portion of would-be RL followers simply because they are repeatedly having to get to grips with a new league structure.

I dunno how much young kids would read into the league structures tbh. I think they aren't wanting to play RL purely because the exposure isn't there and we don't make enough of the personalities currently playing the sport. Kids need their 'idols' and RL just hasn't gone out of their way enough to give them any.

Apparently there was some kind of meeting of club reps from Champ1 yesterday, so I wonder when we'll get to hear what happened? - though it's a big call to think anything did get decided.

one of fthe RL journo's tweeted that the restructure stuff wasn't discussed, let alone voted on, as there was no proposal put forward for discussion.
