I drink in Keighley regularly and there are 4 really good pubs IMO, Boltmakers, Cricketers, Red Pig and Brown Cow.

There are some that are really worth avoiding too.

As for the game itself I will probably be going despite my reluctance earlier due to the attitude of the majority of Keighley fans on this site.

Bolt makers - whilst still an ace pub - lost a bit for me when they changed the manager and refurbished it. Can’t go wrong with taylor’s Beers

The Volunteers top end of Lawkholme Lane is another typical Taylors, like the Boltmakers its a terrace house turned into a pub so it feels like you are in the sitting room of a household that happens to have St Timothy's. Chippy across the road too.

Hamsterchops will be at home in the Grinning Rat. Its the only place I have ever been in a fight in Keighley (Gisburn is the other place!!!!!!! grumpy farmers...). Fortunately the aggressor was so drunk that it only took a small push (after 5 minutes of abuse from him) for him to fall over and be taken to Airedale in an ambulance). A pleasant Christmas Eve was nonetheless had by all other than the A& E staff. I am not keen to improve on my record of 2 (2 bwok) - 0- 0 but HC i will be out the back by the bike shed.

So who's taking their Mum to this as a special treat?

Will it be another bash-athon with a hatful of red cards? I hope we get a more experienced ref for this game. Flanagan likely to debut I would think. We could use his experience for games like this.

I'd go with this side.

McNally
Grant
Gibson
Smith
Ryan
Keyes
Chisholm
Crossley
Flanagan
Peltier
Johnson
Minchella
Hallas

Pickersgill
Garside
Bustin
Wood

Definitely think thats the way we should go. Garside seems to be witch hunted again by the keighley lot, but from speaking to someone who played against him a few times hes supposed to be a bit of a wind up merchant and likes getting under peoples skin. If true in this league I am actually glad we have someone who can rough it up a bit in the pack

Alas the Grinning Rat is no longer with us. Send him to the Cavendish. :BEAT:

Him and Flanagan will make a good pair. I expect big Samir too lose his marbles pretty quick if those two are on the field.

Haven't been to a pub in Keighley in 10 years. No intention of breaking that streak!

Funny to see Martin is still mentioning me though. I don't know how often he does, because I don't actually see his posts unless someone quotes them. Shows you can put the ear plugs in, but the dog keeps yapping.

Like I said there are some really good pubs in Keighley. K town gets a bad press sometimes but I think it's alright.

I forgot the station bar too, which is worth a visit if you're coming in by train. In fact I'd recommend public transport since it's very well connected and the parking is pretty difficult.

According to the Bulls Twitter just now, it's Billy Pearson. Who if I'm honest, I've never even heard of. So probably not all that experienced.

Never seen ilhis name even when I've read up on the L1 reports this season. Don't think we could have got a more inexperienced referee. Having said that, the guy we had for the Dewsbury farce last year ended up being given a full time role shortly after that. So doesn't really matter. Be another fiery one, but i think we've got a few who will give it back for a change.
