Exactly. At least 2 occasions under Chalmers, there were problems with the shirts when they arrived. The "different away shirt" debacle in his first year, then the awful quality last year.
Hopefully these are as they look, as it's a nice traditional design (if you ignore the F1 style advertising on the sleeves, but that's every club nowadays). But the club need to understand that pre-orders might be quite low as people want to be sure of what they're buying after past problems. As long as there's no repeat of those, I'm sure they'll sell well once they're in the shop and people can check them out.
I think there is a strong element of all that, tbh. Particularly with the quality of product and sizing. I'm not sure how anyone can say it's wonderful when you've not actually had one in your mitts. Some older ones which people have raved about have had diabolically poor, weak stitching which started to split after the first wash.
Given the past, I'll wait and see I think. To be fair, they are only for one season's use so, as I have in the past, I guess I'll put up with a poor quality garment, but the sizing is pretty important if ordering early. Having to buy a size 3X as big as I would get in, say, Superdry or other high st. stores has been pretty regular in recent seasons.
