Still no Eldon Myers in squad. I wonder why seeing its against his old team, seems a bit strange to me. Would have thought it would raise his game. Is he also injured?

He only played a couple of games on trial don’t know if that makes them really his old club?

I would start with:
Hall
MDJ
Gill
Evans
Kear
Patton
Forshaw
Crossley
Doyle
Walker
Murphy
Scott
Evans

Hall
MDJ
Gill
Evans
Kear
Patton
Jowitt
Crossley
Doyle
Walker
Wallace
Scott
Evans

For me like everyone else Hall has to be the favoured option, I can’t see anything other than a Jowitt start the Patton-Jowitt combo needs playing if they are going to make it work, though I would say we need to play for Shaw for at least 40 mins and I think Wallace earnt himself another start looked solid throughout last week

TBF I don't think by the sound of things we had much of a choice whether we kept him or not. Fev are arguably paying out more than he is worth based on his attacking play, but then again his defensive frailties will not be as exposed as they were at Bradford so maybe he will prove to be good value in the end.

I'm more than a little concerned with out Full Back options. Hall whilst no doubt has potential, couldn't make the starting Batley side and did most of his good work off the bench or on the wing.

Burton has been poor when I've seen him given a shot and really we should be seeing some signs of improvement. Obviously Kear must like him to keep giving him a place but he's blow decent chances at both wing and full back and just looks to lack confidence when in the first team.

I really hope there is some truth in the rumour of Shaul coming in on duel reg as he would be a very good player at Championship level.

Batley starting fullback as arguably one of the most in form players in the comp last year so it’s not much suprise hall couldn’t get in a good run of games and he could be a quality player

Hull FC are sending a fairly weakened squad with only 8 or 9 first team players named. The rest of the squad for this game is filled up with Academy and Reserve players.

I'd like to see Hall given a shot at FB if he is fit to play. Burton had a bit of a nightmare first half against Batley and never seemed to recover. Patton & Jowitt also need to play the full game together to improve their partnership.

Any news on the following:
Ryan Millar
Brad England
Samy Kibula
Eldon Myers

That’s a bit of a shame re Hull. This is a bit of a strange testimonial game in general. Danny Brough had a long career but only played about a dozen games for us, so not sure why we’re hosting it. All seems a bit half hearted, and he deserves better. Hopefully there will be more there than last week’s pitiful turnout.
As for the missing players, it’s all a bit of guesswork as the club are maintaining radio silence:
England was hobbling about in a surgical boot at the players awards night in October. Presumably he is still recovering.
Kibula and Miller both said they were injured when interviewed in hospitality last week. They seemed to suggest they weren’t far away.
Myers? Who knows? Those that do aren’t saying. Hopefully all will be well.

Given our dr status with Hull FC I wouldn’t be surprised if the friendly wasnt planned anyway and with brough retiring it was convenient to badge up as his testimonial

That makes sense and is probably the case. We are where we are so let’s hope it goes well and Brough enjoys a good day.
