Actually, the 10K target for season tickets really is sooooo last year and hasn't been mentioned this time round. I'm sure they've budgeted to an internal target but haven't left themselves as hostages to fortune this time. Yet another of the Fax he's got wrong..

I think in the T&A article the new owners said they were looking for between 6k to 10k season tickets for 2014. Unless costs have been cut from the 2013 season - which is possible - we know we needed a cash injection at the 6k level. So guess 8k season tickets is about the breakeven, and at 10k we start to compete with Nobby in the transfer market! I have done my bit and already "Belong" - but could be tempted to trade up to one of the Coral stand deals in the opening months of the season when the weather tends to be Shi - I mean poor.

I must have missed that, though it's much better than the 'hoping for 10K' which was the stated target last season, and was always way too optimistic imo. We've had around, or just under, the 8K figure at games this year, so hopefully it will grow with a decent start to the season. I wouldn't like to bet on the split between season tickets and pay on the gaters though.

Have to say I am delighted that this has happened. Hope his health is ok (no pun intended) but I cannot say I am too disappointed to see him go. I AM disappointed that he did not take Duffy with him though.

Was never convinced by him in the slightest, and, to be fair, this "illness" came on awfy quickly did it not?

2014 looking better already.

Would suggest your comments are not fair in the slightest.

I'm sure you personally have a much better insight on how "illness" can just suddenly come on awfully quickly!!!

Maybe a quick thank you might be more in order. How about "thank you Mr Khan for saving the Bradford Bulls when nobody else was willing to step in"???

Thank god we still have a club today otherwise we wouldn't be able to hear all the moronic and mindless things you and a few other come up with on a daily basis

Serious question: does Robbie Hunter-Paul have any business experience or qualifications? I would like to see him do well as your CEO but it does seem a big challenge.

seriously? I made an error about the tax statement of bedz r us......doesn't change the fact that 2 wheeling and dealing barrow boys have control of the Iconic Bradford Bulls..

The 2 guys who are taking over have very little success in business other than an On-line bed sales company that, whilst lucrative, offers no real insight into the day to day running of a professional sports organisation.
Mr Whitcut, who Mr Moore says
....has, with Epic Hotels now being in liquidation, held directorships at 9 dissolved companies since 2006........that's more than one a year FFS
He may think he knows about corporate entertainment, but it would seem that the Bradford Public didn't agree......9 times.

Your New CEO, who I understand has also experience of running a pub and a Business degree, is the same guy who incorrectly tweeted in regards of the wages fiasco a couple of months back.

Last year OK said he wanted 10,000 ST's...this time around, Mr Moore has said between 6k and 10k. Given 6k left Bradford needing 7 figures in bail outs to get them through 2013, I'd say that unless they get Led Zep to reform for a one off in Bradford's Iconic Oddslum, then he'll need 10k.

The other money streams they are targeting is the Coral suite for banqueting/conferences and the club shop....both of which as I understand it, were available in 2013 but obviously didn't generate the required revenue.

On the topic of profitability....Mr Moore reckons within a year...
I'm not anti-Bradford....I just don't like the way your club begged for help, was bailed out by the RFL, bitched about the other clubs taking half your TV money in return for letting you survive, or the way your fans persistently declare all is well at the club when it is blatantly obvious that once again the club is teetering on the edge whilst decrying anyone who questions the morality of what's going on.
2 Barrow boys with no experience of running anything other than failed pubs and an online shop are now in charge of the ICONIC bradford Bulls....and, regardless of what tax bracket Bedz r Us are in, that is not a positive thing.

As I said, concentrate on the error about the tax bracket and ignore all the other stuff......9 failed businesses in 7 years........if alarm bells aren't ringing then they bloody well should be.

Can't see how this logic works. So the perceived (in your eyes of course) success and profile of the businesses that the owners are involved in outside of the club affect how the club is run itself? They are totally separate entities and ones that you have no idea about other an internet search that you are manipulating to your own ends.

If this is correct then why has the mega rich, highly successful oil man at London presided over a complete and utter failure? IF (and that's a big if) you make it to the first game of the season will you be able to field a full team? Also are you playing on the local rec again like the Catalans match?

Why is that so implausible?

I find it entirely possible that the stress of running and bankrolling the club, possibly exacerbated by ungrateful sods, could quickly harm your physical health. And then, as someone who has suffered yourself, you will appreciate that the stress could easily have had an impact on his mental health as well. That could be a fine one day, can't get out of bed the next scenario.

Yep. He's got qualifications in business. He's been through university (he got a degree in sports marketing and public relations from Huddersfield Uni) and then got a qualification at business school. He also of course worked for a year and a half in a business development role at Shudds, and has been de facto doing a lot of the CEO work at Odsal of late anyway.

Also it has been made clear that both MM and RW will be very much involved, it's not as if he will be doing everything himself, with no support.

Re: Kahn leaves the bulls! : Fri Sep 27, 2013 3:13 pm
The problem for Bradford highlighted on this thread emanates from the poorly worded statement issued earlier this week... “I intend to hand over the reins to new owners ...subject to RFL approval.”
The statement does not make it clear how the two new owners have become the two new owners. Have they either bought a controlling number of shares in OK Bulls Limited OR is the intention to transfer the club to a new entity owned by the two? We don’t know; the statement didn’t say.
Either way, the expressed optimism (and the fingers crossed blind faith of some supporters) (i.e. that the RFL will rubber stamp the deal (supposedly yesterday, 26th September)) appears to be unfounded given the silence from Red Hall. And quite right...
In Scenario 1. (The “new owners” have bought a controlling interest in the share capital of OK Bulls Ltd and will therefore honour its debts), the two just have to satisfy the RFL’s “fit and proper person” test. That’s all fine.
Scenario 2 (Where the intention is to transfer the club to a new company owned by the “new owners”) is a bit more problematical for Bradford. Not only do the two have to show they are “fit and proper” but they also have to provide evidence that a) the new entity is appropriately capitalised to take on a Super league club licence and b) (the big one) that OK Bulls Ltd will be debt free at the point of transfer of the Bulls’ licence to the new entity. Failing b) should mean the club being relegated to Championship 1 for 2014. (No RFL club can rack up debts, periodically walk away from them and then expect to be able to carry on as if nothing had gone wrong).
For some time and for the good of the game in this country, I have advocated the following high level requirements be put in place by the RFL and made clear to ALL clubs (particularly before they get themselves into financial trouble) and which cover the above;
1. Provision for annual automatic promotion and relegation between the leagues (I’m almost there with this key provision).
2. Entities owning a club going into Administration = 6 points deduction
3. Entities owning a club going bust (i.e. insolvent liquidation) = club relegated to bottom division
4. All clubs (including non-UK i.e. Catalans to you and me) to prepare annual audited accounts to 31 December each year and submit to RFL by following 30th June. Failure = 6 points deduction
5. No salary cap
6. A limit on the number of players that any club can have registered with the RFL at any one time
7. 13 of the 17 players named for each match to be EU born
