Think that may be fair comment FP, though, of course, there was a way back in those days.
As things stand now, I'd guess the way back up is going to be blocked for some time as I don't seriously think anyone from the lower divisions is going to break through the current [as of next year] glass ceiling. To come in the top four of an 8 team mini league which contains four fully professional teams, on a much higher cap, honed by playing in a higher standard competition is going to be a mighty big ask for a team of largely part-timers. It might be manged in a one-off cup game [and that's a rarity as it is] but in a league format you're pretty much asking the impossible.
