Also known as 1997 (28th March to be exact). 12,044 at the Boulevard, but whether you'd say it's the same division as the current Championship considering the umpteen restructures since then is very much up for debate. All beside the point anyroad as I doubt we'll get close to the 8,000 at Widnes-Salford the other day. Would like to think the crowd we'll attract for Leigh vs Bradford is one that would be very hard pushed to be accomodated at Post Office Road though.

Ha, ha, ha, ha ignoramus, its irrelevant how many POR holds, and bulllshiiiit its open to no debate that game was played in the 2nd tier so is the 2nd tier record no matter what the sponsors want to call it
Hull FC or Sharks V Hull kR Good Friday prob 98 Northern Ford premiership ..., I pointed out a FACT that u cant beat the record You check this up I will bet you as much cash as you like the above game holds the record for the lower division (Please check) And no im no nutter ...
Look, YOU'RE the one making the claim so YOU check and provide your evidence.
Anyway, whilst you do, I accept your bet and bet you £100,000,000 that the Northern Ford Premiership record crowd was NOT set in 1998 in a match between the Hull clubs.
PS the Northern Ford Premiership only ran between 1999 and 2002
PPS In 1998 Hull Sharks were in the JJB Sports Super League so couldn't have played Hull KR in what was then the First Division
You may or may not be a nutter, but I hope you're a rich one.

Wiki sees it differently; "The record crowd for a club game at this level of competition was set in 2008 at the Stobart Stadium when Widnes defeated Salford 20–18 in front of 8,189. The crowd record for regular season attendance was also broken in 2008 with an average of 2,205 spectators at each game." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Championsh ... 29#History
Even in light of the above, I'd expect the 12,000 in 1997 has been beaten at some stage over the years anyway, maybe by Hull again in the 70's?
All seems a bit of a tangent when the initial topic was the prospect of 5,000+ at Leigh v Bradford!
