Now, as for this...

That's a big concern. I'm not denying that. What's your suggested course of action?

I think we have to be looking towards bringing somebody in to work above McNamara. I don't honestly believe Macca is a terrible coach, but the lack of progress is now alarming. Whether Macca would step aside or be happy about a director of rugby type mentor working above him I'm not sure. But patience is fast starting to run out with ALL sections of the the crowd.

The club cannot afford to ignore this, because our support will plummet. We may well be cutting staff, but if we had cash to pay Bird, then surely right now that cash would be better spent bringing more experience to our coaching set up?

I like SM but he's had long enough now and should walk on his own accord to keep some respect. Sacking him wouldn't do us any good, paying him out etc etc, if he walked get someone (don't know who like) in for remainder of season to see how we go on. Let's have it right we couldn't be any worse.

Pity for anyone who went tonight, total waste of money, my kids from Wibsey would have put up more fight than that.

And the crowds WILL drop at Odsal if we carry on like this, we're pretty crap supporters anyway.

Hull will tear us apart next week if we play like that.

"Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill. That we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe. To ensure the survival and success of liberty" John Fitzgerald Kennedy

Well the season is shaping us I feared, though I dare not say it particularly on here where it's a crime to have an opinion!

We all knew the recruitment wasn't good enough, we all knew we needed a new half back and it was p**s poor planning to leave it so late, and then not even be able to get the guy we went for! We all know our kids need a go, as they can't be much worse than the signings we made, we all know the back up coaching staff is in-experienced and not upto the task, we all know McNamara has run out of ideas, excuses, luck, and please hopefully time!

When optimsm bounds at most other clubs, Leeds top dogs, Saints annual trip to Wembley booked, Huddersfield with 5 figure crowds, Hull top of the pile, Hull KR with a bright young coach heading for a top 4 finish, Wakefield playing wonderful spirited rugby in adversity with one of our players in the ranks  , Wigan clicking at last full of local lads playing for the cause, Celtic new and fresh out of the box, Catalan with a cracking local following and sensational new signing , Cas playing the fast free flowing we all admire them for from years gone by, Salford with an amazing new stadium and 3 years in Super League to look forward to, The quins are really making a difference at amateur level in London, Warrington have taken steps to stop the rot with a top notch coach (why didn't we think of that?)......

and then there's Bradford reverting to type, too big, too slow, no flair, intelligence, creativity, or enthusiasm with dwindlng crowds, a board devoid of any vision praying the gods will deliver a new stadium that solves everything er helloooooo its all about the team, Exhibit A Wakefield, Exhibit B Saints etc. etc. The players have clearly stopped listening to a coach they no longer respect, or he has nothing to say except tired old cliches and he is the best bs bingo caller I've ever heard!

Go now Macca, please, I'd rather do what the Giants did and have a caretaker for the rest of the season than carry on with this clown, and get the right man tied up for next season now. Huddersfield showed us the way it was bold and nobody died though they didn't make the play offs (but we won't anyway) looking at their crowds so far you could argue it was actually a good move, building anticipation for this year well into last.

Time for a change Mr. Hood, I for one will not be returning until there is one my season ticket can gather dust in the cupboard, and I'm certainly not making the kind of trips I endured last night again anytime soon.

We demand better, we expect better and so should everyone who calls themself a Bradford fan.

There that's better, ummmmmmmmmmm

OK Macca Backers : Sun Mar 08, 2009 9:45 am
Went last night and was alarmed watching our "warmup". Seemed a complete shambles with several players apparently unaware of their role or position in the preparation.
As to our tactics, we invariably have a flat attacking line forcing us to make a flat pass to a collegue who is either standing still or who has no chance of winding up a turn of speed. Macca, when playing for us, was part of a superb attacking team than ran onto passes at speed and a break was also invaribly backed up. So why this uninspiring, flat football completely lacking flair. Take a look at the old videos and change now...please!

Under the thumb!

Read a few mentions in here about Paul Cullen. To be honest I don't think he would be a bad appointment.

IMO, the problem PC had at Warrington was that from day one he was too pally with the players, in particular two or three of the high profile players. This was great when he first took over and we were staring relegation in the face, but as we started to climb back to the lofty heights of mid table mediocrity and scraping into the playoffs it was backfiring. Certain senior players were allowed to get away with murder both on and off the field and divisions were created in the dressing room (divisions that I feel still exist and will do until some of those players leave the club).

PC is a good coach, and a very intelligent man. He knows what mistakes he made at Warrington, and I have no doubt that he won't be making the same mistakes in his next appointment wherever that may be. He took a very poor side and turned them into a mid table team who played some spectacular rugby and were capable of beating anyone (bar Saints) on their day. McNamara appears to be doing the exact opposite!
