Well, today's T&A has Ferres bemoaning the Dual Reg system. Which I think is a fair complaint. The intent of having only an u19 league with no over age players in it may have been to encourage clubs to spread out their fringe players to get them game time, but really it doesn't help anyone other than a few clubs who can rely on dr players instead of developing their own.
We need a proper reserve grade in this country

I agree with the comments regarding the need for a reserve grade. It seems pretty obvious that the game needs it so it's hardly surprising that the RFL are oblivious to it.

I also think that Mr Ferres has now realised that the Bulls are highly unlikely to gain promotion this year (not for lack of effort on his part) and will once again be competing in the Championship, only next time they won't have the 750k parachute payment to subsidise such a large squad.

I think most fans would agree. We had a large intake to see who made the grade. We could lose several players without even noticing and recruit others in specific positions. It's been a steep learning curve and surely we will be better prepared next year.

There is was no 750k parachute payment. The 750k was actually 780k and was the Central funding allocated to the highest placed team in the league, which as highest placed relegated team was us.
Central funding next year is 780k for first (Leigh), 770k for second (us) 550k for third etc. so no significant drop in funding from that source.
Think our cap spend will stay same but the concentrated on fewer higher quality players rather than quantity. It's a balancing act getting sufficent injury cover balanced with quality. We went too far other way in 2014 and struggled with injuries all yr. this yr we've gone too far the other way and been relatively lucky with injuries, those we have had being to key players rather than arrests where we had a lot of depth.

Think that's fair comment, though whilst we certainly can lose some of those who are not getting a game [so, presumably won't play next year either, if the coach stays in situ], we must look to the future and keep the younger ones who have yet to fully develop, and be very picky about who we bring in - no more hoping they make the grade, we have to know they are good enough already.

TBH, there's a good amount of quality in the Bradford side mixed with some potentially good young players who might be on the fringe this season.

Recruitment for next year should be the same regardless of which division we're playing in. There's certain areas we need to greatly improve in and some of the current players are not at the required standard we need to push onwards.

We need some blostering to the back line to improve our defence out wide and at least one GOOD half back who can not only play along side Gaskell, but can take over the team should Gaskell be out of the side for whatever reason.

I stand corrected, but I'm going on memory. I'm pretty sure that I heard it described as a parachute payment shortly after being relegated. May have been by other championship teams who didn't get as much.

TBF that is exactly what Baile would do.

I like Baile to be fair, and was delighted when he came on board, but he's not really been up to his standard of old. Maybe he's not had a long enough run or it's just the 'in and out' nature of his appearances so far, but, for me, his form hasn't exactly screamed "pick me", to the coach.
