Look at the lengths you're going to to point out one decision in one play out of an entire 80 minute match.
Christ they're doing a hard job in hard conditions Only to be subjected to an unrealistic level of scrutiny. From basically arm chair pundits based entirely on their own interpretation of a you tube video.
Then you have the cheek to call us!
The lengths I went to, I watched a video, and noticed it, and mentioned it here. Like running the marathon. And I mentioned it to point out your fans hypocrisy and bias. It doesn't work other wise, because I'm not the one with the referee problem.
For your sake I hope you are being deliberately stupid, but flame wars aren't my thing so I'll wait for someone worth speaking to.

You're attempting to highlight Bradford fans complaining about the ref by complaining about the ref?
The ref didn't see anything wrong and neither did I in all honesty. The ref doesn't have the benefit of video replays on you tube nor your obvious bias. To complain about that is really pathetic in my honest opinion. You won 56-12 so it hardly had any bearing on the game. You should be more bothered about that than one decision you think went against you.
However you try and justify it you're complainig about the ref. you'd do well to remember that without them we don't have a game.
Yeah I've only been watching the game 34 years now so maybe I'm not quite as long term as you and the others on this site. Although I'm puzzled as to how long you have to be watching before this idiocy doesn't get thrown in your face.
Fair minded fans or considering a referee consciously biased. Pick one.
"Gerrumonside!" The last refuge of the desperate. I persistently stick up for referees and have done for years. People are biased naturally, but if you check, the referees will bring both teams back roughly the same although where the referee stands in relation varies, which confuses people. It's very usually confirmation bias.
What I did hear on the video was a few perfectly good tries (every single one fine, not quite the narrative before I posted the video) where the crowd shouted forward. Strikes me that the crowd was frustrated with the match and needed an outlet, same as usual.
We've all seen the odd game where the referee hasn't had a blinder but people had made their minds up about this guy before he started, and look at that score, every try fine. Tells its own story. If it was a close game, then fair enough. But concentrating on a referee in a 12-56 massacre? LOL.
I've already said marginal forward pass calls are part of the game. I'm not desperate. I watched Cobb police the offside at the ptb 1 and 2 differently for each side from the stand. He persistently allowed Widnes longer in the tackle and gave a penalty to Widnes when Bradford laid on (marginally). It affected the game.
Go watch your own video. In the crucial part of the game Mellor and Runciman's tries are from marginal forward passes similar to what the Bulls were blown up for, and Ah Van is clearly in touch. If this is what we've watched are we not allowed to say so without your hysterics. 'Crap' 'LOL'?
Love how oppo fans dont see any issues with their own team especially if they have won, if the result was reversed we would have seen the same ferver form Widnes as we are from us.
I think we have a issue at the top personally, in how many big games have we picked ourselves up and beaten someone, only game i can think of is Sheffield, (salford weren't at the races and anyone could have beaten that day so im discounting them), really need a kick up the backside from somewhere we lack enthusiasm during games and i really cant put my finger on it, Leigh even though they have lost against 3 SL seems to have given a better acount of themselves than us, and if we get flogged against KR then i think thats us done for, Leigh will smell blood and rip us to shreds.
And i though Ah Van was in touch at the time and the TOUCH JUDGE watched him all the way but did nothing what does that tell you,
And i though Ah Van was in touch at the time and the TOUCH JUDGE watched him all the way but did nothing what does that tell you,
It tells me that he wasn't in touch
Honestly, referees being consciously biased against us? That sounds like something the Wakefield fans would say.
We were well beaten by a well drilled, well organised side with a solid spine to their team, compared to us playing a winger at 1, a loose forward at 6 and a fullback at 7. The fact that Widnes are spending almost twice as much on their squad as we are won't have helped either.
Onwards to Saturday's thumping. Every minute matters.
I just wanted to see what Dalton would come back with
I think its more in our mindset if we have cobb we seem play differently as we expect him to police the game incorrectly, all our games with him in charge have been terrible if you think about it, must be psychological, obviously the match review commissioner who reviews the refs performance doesn't see anything wrong with what hes doing as he gets high profile games (i though all SL teams shere supposed to have a SL ref appointed for them or am i thinking of something else?) so he must be marked as ne of the better refs out there (i think he is whistle happy and like the game to be played at his pace which is usually slow and the game decends either into a thumping or a farce like Leigh away.
Two key tries, first early in the second half, Galea to Runciman is a blatant forward pass, screen grabs are never conclusive but the ball is still going forward on the shot I have illustrated, and watching the video only someone playing devil's advocate can defend that decision. It's not marginal nor a line ball.
the second one is Runciman to Paddy. Yes there is some momentum to take into account but the ball goes much more forward than that and the point is, Runciman never shapes to pass behind himself, he and his hands are always shaped and positioned to propel the ball forward of himself, as the three stills especially the middle inset so clearly show. Look at the hands, look at the eyes, he is throwing it forward of himself, end of.
These are easy calls for officials.
I wouldn't be prepared to say Paddy was in touch, there is insufficient evidence
The only point of this post is to confirm that these were two extremely bad misses by the officials. Not to claim they cost us the game or any other crap.

I think it's fair to say that most people , not so much don't notice bad calls which go their way, it's more that they just aren't as bothered. Mr, Mrs or MS Dalton is probably one of these and also probably on the wind up anyway. Shame he or she got Macbulled...
Thing that annoyed me about the forward passes, it appeared ( i could be wrong) that Cobb made the call rather than the TJ's. Reason i say this is the whistle blew almost instantly, whereas when the touch judge gives them, there is normally a delay.
The first two passes Cobb blew for us, were forward, the third i thought was flat (at worst), but to then ignore some pretty blatant ones from Widnes irritates fans. Also Mellor's first try from Clarkson's pass was clearly forward, but again, not given. Again this is not in any way why we lost, but just because we got hammered, doesn't mean fans cannot be unhappy about yet another poor/dubious performance by this particularly referee.
I think the reason Bulls fans are so infuriated with Cobb is because this is the fourth game we have had him this year, and every single one, we never seem to get the 50/50 calls. Even the 70/30 calls don't seem to go our way. He also seems to give a penalty to the opposition at crucial important times. Hands in the ruck being his favourite.
The Adam Henry"no try" at Halifax sticks in my mind, where he said a Halifax man grounded the ball first. He had a clear view of it and it clearly showed Henry grounding it with a fax arm nowhere near it. That decision was indefensible. Someone mentioned in the post maybe Cobb (not consciously) sees what he wants to see. I know he got abuse on twitter after the Leigh debacle, he's only human, maybe he has a problem with Bradford due to the abuse he got and as a result, gives us very little and sees what he wants to see. I.E He wanted to see a halifax arm ground the ball first.

Doesn't seem like 'a Championship side' to my eyes, and certainly shouldn't be getting 56 points put on them at home against a side that couldn't make the Top 8
Just because those players have played SL doesn't mean they're SL quality. Many are good championship standard but that's it. At he most I'd say 8 or 9 are lower half SL quality.
Look at our bench props. Vs championship opposition they are steady but against SL teams they look too slow and ponderous.
We're hampered by the lower salary cap and lower central funding.
The point about us only playing championship opposition all year is valid too. We've got away with some wins this season despite being poor. It lulls players into a false sense of security.
