If that is correct, they should be keeping the updates a little more regular where possible. When was the last time we had some news? Where exactly are we in the process?

Dunno, to be honest mate.

Most of the schemes at Odsal seemed have endless meetings where it was said we could go ahead, which only led to a big splash in the T&A saying "Odsal gets the green light", and then to immediately find that some new obstacle had been erected. I do try to be optimistic, I really do, but you get worn down eventually.

I think the club need to be giving the fans at least some indication of what the crack is, even if it's bad news. They told us at the forum that there was a meeting at the end of August with the council but since then nothing, which unfortunately leads to speculation and an increasingly gloomy outlook by the fans.

Debaser is right.

At a recent meeting with Ryan he was in a very positive frame of mind about Odsal. He, like us thought the change of council and the cuts across the board would spell the end of the project.

The truth is that very positive noises are being made and the project is still very much on the agenda.

The OSV is no longer linked to the 2012 games and is more about providing a facility for Bradford.

I don't think I'm revealing anything here that is top secret.

I believe Q2 in 2011 should see some more info in the public domain

are any of you worried about the license situation? if cas and wakey get new stadia, along with the ones at salford and saints, then does it leave you fighting for a license?

Re: Odsal Sporting Village : Mon Oct 25, 2010 11:33 pm
Bulls were not one of the five clubs who were told they had to improve the ground.

Bulls already have ample seating and corporate facilities, as well as big car park and a full-size pitch bar about 1m - much as that surprises a few. The ground is not a major issue for a SL 2012 Licence.

The ground does NOT meet the "fit for 21st century" criteria. so going forward it will become more of an issue. If the OSV does not go ahead (I actually think there is more chance of progress than might be expected - the Camercleggerons seem to understand that you need to cut back on revenue spend not capex to deal with the deficit) then we'll need to revert to the earlier plan which was a big cantilever stand over the popular side. I suspect the club would now be able to finance that, now we have Bennett Duckett and Hood all focused on marketing and all with strong skill sets in that field, and after the amazingly-successful "Pledge" campaign.

If worst comes to worst (and IMO it would be worst) we'll just have to cut a deal with the owners of Valley Parade.

But I am not now worried about losing our Licence. The Pledge campaign made sure of that.
