Don't think i'm biased...
...i'm just very narrow minded!!!!!!!

I take it that this means there is no announcement at 11.30am now and that we all have to worry ourselves sick again over the Bank Holiday Weekend???

The phrase politically correct is in itself politcally incorrect so should be rephrased politically stupid!

If you like old type radio comedy/ dramas etc listen to //pumpkinfm.com/

Statistically speaking you have a better chance of getting dead the older you get!

Thank god only when you find a religion that passes the truth test!

What it says is they have reached 480K and still counting, and as has been said anything over 500K is a positve help so its understandable, the pledge is succeeding so perhaps those who held back will now contribute!

Try and do something to take your mind off it.

I'll be doing this: http://www.thetelegraphandargus.co.uk/n ... _for_free/

Maybe I'll do some decorating or some gardening, you can come and help if you like!

Last nights victory will probably have given the pledge further impetus but a statement a few days ago basically saying the pledge will carry on until Monday/Tuesday would have made everyones morning a lot better.

This is all very confusing, what deadline was friday/saturday exactly? It seem this has just been moved to monday, so is this a self enforced date or court order/taxman?

And then we would have had people on here complaining that they had been lied to and goalposts moved.

Damned by those with the benefit of hindsight whatever they did. And yes, their PR has been poor throughout.

Must admit I feel a bit miffed about today's announcement. Did Mr Hood not say that, if we did not have £500,000 by today, the club would go bust? This is patently not true then, is it?

This does his PR reputation no good at all, and the sooner he is gone the better.

Just been reading the report in the link in the very first post on this thread.

Hood never actually said those words. He said we have to raise at least half by mid April.

Bennett said we could just about last another two amd a half weeks. That was on 27 March. In other words, till the salaries have to be paid later next week.

So a closing date of any date up till early next week was always practicable.

I thought they said if the pledge was reached we'd have to pay the money straight away on saturday morning.

I certainly recall it said to be payabe straight away, for sure, although I took that more to deter delay in payment. That said, middle of month is middle of month, so I would hardly expect them to allow much leeway now.
