I think we're done with regards to signing halfbacks. For now, at least.
If Jacks is a decent signing then great. Siejka didn't really have much impact at all last season so at least Rhys has the good fortune of not really having much to live up to in terms of replacing last year's 7.
What concerns me slightly is the fact that he's 25 and was still only playing part time before we signed him. You would think that if he was a good player, he would have been given a shot by an aussie club by now. But then again I don't know his back story, so perhaps he did get a chance and it didn't work out, who knows.

But we now have Gaskell, Jacks, Thomas, Addy and (shudder) Purtell who can all play in the halves if need be. Hopefully we don't need to call on all of them next season but the cover is certainly there now.

Only thing I would say is that we still don't have a visa for Jacks so he is very much just on trial with us for now. I think we'd all of been a little more comfortable with having a punt on Jacks if we hadn't lost Mullaney as well, that is a loss if he isn't replaced with a SL quality player.

Been rumoured to be going back to Fev, but I haven't seen anything official. Fev announced their squad numbers a while back and he wasn't listed, but they did leave the number 6 shirt free, so perhaps he's lined up for that.

It really is worrying when people look at you tube clips in order to assess a players' ability because everyone can have the odd flash of skill which can be uploaded for all to see. My football team, Dundee United, recently signed a striker called Darko Bodul. As soon as it was announced, some "helpful" fan fired up a you tube link to him scoring an amazing overhead kick in a game in the Dutch league. You would think that he was better than Messi after watching it and then reading the comments. As it happens, despite my side being truly awful this season, the "Austrian Messi" that thrilled us so on You Tube is probably the biggest pile of pissflaps that we have ever signed. If only players were assessed properly......

Must have been sometime ago if it happened because Jarrod actually signed for Town in October, it just couldn't be announced until now for a specific reason.
