Waiting for an announcement...

At least he can sell the domain to the eventual new owners. My view on this conversion of debt to shares is one of incredulity. Firstly the HMRC wil not want shares in a RL club and secondly they are basically worthless anyway and are just postponing any possible return of the debt to the next admin. If this is all driven by Greens desperation you can bet there will be a catch, to me I think he has conned once too often to be credible in any way shape or form. I sincerely hope that the RFL do not cave into this attempt to force their hand. In simple terms they can continue with this process of trying to get a new pro club formed in Bradford and just deny a licence to this (in my opinion) dodgy attempt by the Wasps owner. RU are already trying to pee all over our game with the Solomona issue, do we really want the RU getting inside knowledge of the RFL and RL in general. Something really doesn't sit right, and until a full explanation is published and all these so called NDAs get kicked into touch, I would be very cautious of getting any hopes up.

Bull Mania if the RFL have no knowledge of Petit continuing to try and sell it after announcing he was liquidating the club, then it is behind the RFLs back.

I agree it's potentially worrying. But, we don't know what discussions have gone on between which parties. There is too much guesswork going on. For all we know the rfl are in the loop with the Richardson bid. The list of items the rfl need satisfying by Monday by any potential owner included a detailed plan of staffing and playing squad capability to start the 2017 season, a meeting with the ex current squad is the best starting point for that, without such a meeting how could any other party hope to convince the rfl they could field a team in 3 weeks time?

The RFL are probably hoping we can't get any sort of competitive team together - the fact that this 'new deal', if indeed it is a done deal, might just do that and would upset them, somewhat.

I'd guess the RFL, given earlier statements and their obvious attempt to engineering that very scenario are clearly hoping/praying we go down next year.

The earliest records have the our club playing at Little Horton Cricket Club’s ground just off All Saint’s Road near to St. Lukes’s Hospital and then having what can only be called a peripatetic existence until moving to Park Avenue in 1880. In 1885 Bradford Rugby Club is listed as one of the inaugural clubs in the Northern Union which was the precursor of the Rugby League.

This all leads to a debate about just what constitutes a ‘club’ and as to how certain aspects of it can fall by the way side, whilst the ‘club’ itself seems carry on ad infinitum and to the question of exactly how do we define ‘ a club’.

It’s perhaps easier to say what it isn’t. It isn’t, for instance, the players because they change constantly nor is it the directors for similar reasons. It isn’t just the supporters either because eventually we die or lose interest, it isn’t the ground or any set of buildings either since they can be changed too. It isn’t any commercial aspect either since we still regard any new company formed to run the club as still being ‘the club’. It isn’t even a combination of any or all of the above.

It seems that the ‘club’ is some kind of spiritual link, in which the baton is passed through the generations but which has no logical link to earthly considerations like businesses going bust or changes in circumstance. Since this is so, can we disregard the 1907 decision to play soccer and the 1963 playing and financial disaster and indeed our most recent brushes with demise, which killed a few companies but which clearly didn’t end the ‘club’ and we can stick to the Bulls/Northern being born in 1863?

For those who made it to the end, I thank you for your patience!

The board administrators should pin this post as a standalone 'sticky' for all time on the Bradford board.

Those who think that the soul of a club is defined by a Companies House registration, or an RFL membership certificate, truly are sad people with no comprehension of what it's all about. I have been a Bradford fan since Northern days and the spirit of the Bradford club remained intact into the Bulls incarnations, indeed it was that spirit, embodied by Sir Trev, that kept the concept alive. The formation of Bradford Bulls (1964) Ltd (as it then was) was irrelevant to the club.

Whether it is a different legal entity isn't the point at all. Who ever was a supporter of a limited company?

Edit: Or, I agree with Bulliac :)

While this meeting and planning 'may' be circumventing the RLF, surely they aren't too arrogant to admit that to have a club (with players,) ready to play the fixtures they have set out needs to be finalised as quickly as possible.

And if this cartel have already jumped through the hoops defined by the RFL (which I have to imagine they have, otherwise why the newco, website, meeting etc.) even the RFL must recognise that this is the best bid to start the season with an actual Bradford team.

They couldn't scupper that through pure blind arrogance surely?

He does. Has his own promotions business. I think he's renting an old chapel somewhere in Leeds for putting on dance nights.

I have wondered how many of the Marc Green photos of him apparently in an Ibiza nightclub were actually in his lads bedroom.

I agree I think the RFL already knew what was going on yesterday,
for a bidder to field a bid Monday and have a team together, coaching staff, admin staff, sponsors, kit, ground staff, etc etc all sorted for 3 weeks time is impossible.

This way the club is saved from liquidation, the right thing is seen to be done by the creditors, a possible team should be able to put together for the HKR match ready to go.

Richardson should hopefully be able to replace the gone players as the season goes on, if not some loans from other teams (uncle Tony) can be brought in as needed.

It should be 6 points if the creditors are satisfied, so it will be a very interesting season with hopefully a lot more motivation to achieve.

Not buying that. I'm not sure what the RFL would gain from our relegation.
