It's good that we've finally got a decent sized squad. I can't help wondering if we should have gone for a slightly smaller squad of 28 ish and thrown a bit more money at a decent scrum half. That's the position that's taking the edge off the squad for me as I believe its the most important position. I'm hoping the bloke will really step up next year and show some of the promise he had as a youngster.

I think the Gareth O'brien deal falling though put us on back foot.
Official website reporting that a 'squad' related announcement will take place at 5pm. Squad numbers perhaps?
I'd be surprised if it was. The coach is more likely to use the bait of a 1 to 13 [or 17] number to inspire the training sessions - that said, on facebook it says that full details will be published. Could be biographies, I guess?
Is the current home grown rule 8 players in the main 25-man squad?

Would Vila Halafihi count as home grown as he is under-21?
Otherwise I count 7 home grown players: Danny Addy, Sam Bates, Adam Brook, Nathan Conroy, Alex Mellor, Adam O'Brien and Tom Olbison.
Just had a look and found relevant bit buried in rules. Figure is seven homegrown, not eight so were ok. Halafihi would have to play for us for three seasons in which he would qualify to play in u21's to qualify as homegrown.So at 20 he's too old to get the three years in.
