Looks like six o'clock is the new five o'clock up at odsal :-)

Notice they haven't included any quota details on squad list, despite people asking for clarification on twitter all day.

We had Siejka on dr this season and sent him back. he was truly awful. only played about 4 games, I suppose he could get better. But reading the reports, I think he's been signed on past reputation rather than actually watching the games in which he's played in the league he will be playing in.

Btw looking forward to playing you next season. :D

Does anyone know what the serious injury was that he suffered?

The rave reviews from our feath visitors suggest he struggled to come back from whatever it was.

I think I read somewhere it was his knee.

I'm not surprised he found it difficult at Wakefield and Featherstone. Scrum half must be the hardest position to drop into with an established team. I'm sure a full off season working with a new squad will give him the best chance of living up to past reputations.

Didn't vainikolo come to us looking decidedly average after an injury? It can happen to the best of em. I agree a full pre-season could seem him regain what was clearly seen as a big future in the game.

Well, we've long known about its own micro climate, so its own time zone fits rather well..

Yeah, he did. It took the Volcano quite a while to erupt, iirc. As for Siejka, he was a star in the juniors, international through schoolboys and youths so he obviously has some skill to not only survive that hot house in Aus but to be one of the big winners in it. Time will tell if he takes off in the seniors, but they're saying he's now fully fit and he's clearly a guy with a bit of time to make up and maybe something to prove, so I'm wishing him luck and waiting to cheer him on.

With Siejka it could be that injury that's held him back. Anyone watching Dureau recently can see how an injury/illness can take the edge off.

Hopefully a full pre season will see him right.

Didn't we also sign Baloo after he had serious stomach illness and he was a gamble - but turned out well. This clearly isn't a guarantee with the new lad but he clearly had the talent, speed and agression a couple of years ago. It is a gamble but it all comes down to Jimmy and his team of assistants to get him fit both physically and mentally. He could be a let down but he could explode onto the scene and be a gem. Can't wait till February to see him and the others against teams I used to go watch with my dad decades ago.

Well the lad has a full pre-season with his new team to look forward to. He'll have a coach who's not going to take anyone slacking off.

After all, we've a 30 man squad for the 1st team. That means there's going be 13 lads every week who will not be playing. Can't think there's many of the lads who'll be happy that they're not even on the bench.
