just noticed that the first team squad is on the Bulls website, with stats, and the one that I was most anticipating: Tahraoui. In September the news item said he was 122kg, and now, as I expected, he is down - to 115kg or 18 stone. That is 7kg, or nearly a whole stone less in weight to move around the pitch, = more biffs a game. Given that muscle weighs more than fat the implication of his exercise regime is that it has been stamina oriented rather than muscle bulk. Less weight means faster to maximum speed too. With the likes of Harrison Clough and Sidlow imparting their experience to him and the other younger props, its going to be interesting to see how they develop.
Fleming on the other hand has gone up to 111kg, up 5. So Davies is the lightest prop at 105, Clough 106 (up 5), Sidlow 109, Lauaki and Fleming 111kg, and Tahraoui at 115. Added up that's at least four times more beef than last seasons props!
Sam Bates is now described as a utility forward rather than prop.
I will update the table to the values shown on the Official website some point in the not too distant future.
