It really is worrying when people look at you tube clips in order to assess a players' ability because everyone can have the odd flash of skill which can be uploaded for all to see.
My football team, Dundee United, recently signed a striker called Darko Bodul. As soon as it was announced, some "helpful" fan fired up a you tube link to him scoring an amazing overhead kick in a game in the Dutch league. You would think that he was better than Messi after watching it and then reading the comments.
As it happens, despite my side being truly awful this season, the "Austrian Messi" that thrilled us so on You Tube is probably the biggest pile of pissflaps that we have ever signed.
If only players were assessed properly......

You tube shows what someone was capable of doing on one, or maybe two occasions in the past, I mean, I bet Nathan McAvoy still has that chip over Estyn's head in
his Youtube to this day. One thing is for sure, they miss off all the dropped passes, missed tackles and howlers..
