Yes we absolutely were. It isn't an acceptable thing to have a modern rugby club have the pitch mutilated and replaced back down at a ridiculous camber, and it certainly isn't acceptable for a super league team. If they can work out a modern way of relaying them flat then fine, but otherwise I think its stupid.

To be honest I don't think we have any chance of SL in the future with either stock cars or speedway as co-tenants. That sort of stadium isn't the image that Elstone and the rest of SL are looking for. Trouble is I'm far from sure they are wrong and, for the record, I say that as someone who has very much enjoyed watching both stocks and speedway at Odsal and elsewhere.

I've seen stuff doing the rounds regarding stock cars going back to Odsal and the stadium being upgraded with the help of the stock car version of the RFL but that to get the actual ball rolling, they're going to need £500k

How likely any of this is, seems to me at least, to be in the same realm as the Super Dome. But stranger things have happened.

This bit says it all really. Along with my previous comment about what the SL clubs will be looking for, the fact that money isn't available means it is extremely unlikely to suddenly become so in the short to medium term. As a club, the Bulls don't have the cash to pay for general maintenance let alone 'improvements' which wouldn't benefit RL. We'd still be at Odsal if we did.

I think the 'superdome' quote sums it up quite accurately, tbh.

They probably heard that we were gullible enough to do it in the past.

It's a nice thought but would be the final act in the history of the club. We couldn't survive yet another financial crisis. It's been clear for years you can only 'prosper' with a wealthy backer and we have never, ever had one and we certainly don't have one now.

Yeah like Amazon prime delivering the corners just before the players come out and then moved into place by drones.

Think of the sponsorship opportunities especially with us being back on sky sports.

I share all of the concerns expressed above. But what are the viable alternatives?

Valley parade X
Dewsbury long term X
Odsal without SL X

Replace De Niro and Walken in the Vietnamese jungle, two bullets in the gun, with Wood and Sawyer sat at Odsal Top and you might get some sense of the options available.
