it has been called quite a few names ie corn dolly, golden shuttle.
No, the Goldsborough is the one just a few yards further up from the Corn Dolly. I believe it shut recently? Something i don't think will ever happen to the brilliant Dolly!

Them w'at days. We didn't 'ave no tellies or shoes or bedclothes. We med us own fun in them days. Do you know, when I were a lad you could get a tram down into t'town, buy three new suits an' an ovvercoat, four pair o' good boots, go an' see Jimi Hendrix at Troutbeck 'otel, get blind drunk, 'ave some steak an' chips, bunch o' bananas an' three stone o' monkey nuts an' still 'ave change out of a farthing.
We'd lots o' things in them days they 'aven't got today - rickets, diptheria, Hitler and my, we did look well goin' to school wi' no backside in us trousers an' all us little 'eads painted purple because we 'ad ringworm.
They don't know they're born today!!!With thanks to Tony Capstick.

Thanks guys, at least some of you got to see limelight at least...awesome band. ..the venue i saw them at will have to remain a mystery for now..but it was definately pub with a venue built on..really low ceiling in the concert hall which apparently played havoc with the accoustics..o well Happy days.
Blimey I'll have to get this one, probably wait for the updated one in May.
On the name of the venue could it have been the Beehive ? I'm not sure when they had the extension built for the bands so I might be way out with dates!
Anyone else here Ex Wheatsheaf, Queens Hall/Celler Bar and Frog and Toad?
Some some "interesting" bands at the Queens Hall/Celler Bar - Gypsy Queen, Celtic Frost, Destruction, Lawnmower Deth!! Oh and Bradford's very own Spoilt Bratz who became Terrorvision.

Brings back some great memories.....
Went out for curry with Spoilt Bratz, as a friend was working as a music journalist at the time and I used to carry the camera. I now know the drummer in passing through mutual friends.
I liked Gypsy Queen in the way teenage boys do. Can't recall the music at all
Whilst were on the subject guys..many years ago. early eighties i think...a mate took me to a pub which had sort of a band venue attatched to see a band called limelight..a 3 piece rock outfit that were awesome, sadly the mate is no longer around and i cant for the life of me remember the name of the pub, somehow i seem to think it was called nosey parkers, and was in the bolton woods area somewhere, but no-one i have ever mentioned it to knows of it...any one any idea..?
Many thanks to everyone who made suggestions on this one....after a bit more digging, i found a site dedicated to Limelight complete with past tour dates !! Looks like i was a bit out with my guess at location but according to them they playes at 2 venues in Bradford that year... Princeville and Gatsbys..not sure i remeber if they were pub names or Areas but hey...were getting closer..
