Hardaker is the natural successor to Senior. I don't think FB is his position.

Jamie Foster? No thanks, we have better in our academy (apart from his goal kicking)

Heard from a friend of a friend that mr Bateman recently received a bill for outstanding treatment fees that he thought were getting paid for by the club. Could be a load lobbocks but if not thats one hell of a leaving present

Whatever is the full story behind the Bateman debacle (funny how nobody came in for him while we were paying his full wage for being injured and in rehab) the sad truth is that a club with only 3000 season ticket holders won't be able, in the medium term, to keep any top players, or build up a top squad. Workmanlike is all you can hope for. And whatever the sales are to date, this sort of news will all but kill any substantial further sales. Which makes me suspect we had no choice.

I'm guessing obviously, but it might have something to do with the impending £100k payment that is due from the club to the administrator as part of the original sale agreement. That may have forced their hand somewhat.

I would have expected any dues emanating from the sale would have been settled long ago, surely?.

No. The administrator's report sets out the terms of sale thus :-

1. Initial payment by OK of £75,000 at time of completion (paid at the time)

2. Second tranche of £75,000 due by end of November 2012 (incidentally, this was not paid until February 2013 and the administrator had to issue notice of legal action due to its lateness - it was finally paid by the club not OK personally)

3. A final payment of £100,000 if the club was still a member of SL by 2014

Therefore, with 2014 looming and the club's SL status confirmed then the aforementioned £100,000 will be due soon.

Wouldn't it have been due once our 2014 status was confirmed just after Easter?

I wouldn't be surprised.
