Would you?

Even if it had been clear that the RFL penalty for going bust was relegation to the bottom division? (Like N Wales Crusaders)?

Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity

Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike

SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!

I suggest, as you are so keen to advise others, that you re-read my post. In this pathetic answer you confuse Rarebreeds "wish" and the intentions of the incoming board. My post clearly differentiated between the two, and what my hopes are.
Us fans do not run the club. If we did, I would have put the club into liquidation and started again with no obligations to anybody, and before the fans and others had put £500k into the black hole. Yes there are those that expect signings as if it were 2003 not 2013, but there is a massive dose of realism in the rest. BUT it is the administrators that run the club, and to repeat what I said, I hope that the incoming lot are as realistic as the outgoing lot.

No confusion at all, the fact that the spend to gain plan has a long history of failure, it is still the one most often tried again,as you say whoever comes in hopefully has a better plan

As wooden spoon has aluded to, you would have taken relegation to Championship 1 ? , hindsight perhaps is a wonderful thing

As it seems you dont appreciate any non Bradford participation in this thread I'll leave it there

Unfortunately this is oft the case on here. Anyone who says anything bad about the club is dismissed as a "troll" and anyone who supports a different side generally has "an agenda".

The problem is that so many of our fans have believed the lies for years now that finally getting the truth really DOES hurt.

The thing is, most non Bradford participation is usually along the lines of "You should have been thrown out of the sport all together" or other helpful and insightful comments.
The game of RL in Bradford is failing altogether. Without a pro team for youngsters to support and aspire to there would be decreased interest in the game across the city and less numbers playing, ultimately ending in mass failure of the sport in the city.[/quote

Please describe failing altogether. The game will continue to be played with or without a pro team as it has for over a hundred years.
Claims that Bradford has a significant amateur scene seems odd to me. It is not what you would call a rugby city by any means. So, whilst we have a few clubs, any suggestion of starting from scratch using that amateur scene as a backbone is pure bonkers.

It seems those who want to offer quasi sage advice to us from outside the area probably know little about the reality on the ground.
Whilst it may not be a rugby city I would say that we do have a significant amateur scene with a bit more than a few clubs that will continue with or without a pro club.

Of course talks are ongoing. It's not like Omar's thought hmmm there's a million quid I've pumped into this (by whatever means) and it's still losing me cash. Oh forget about it it's the Christmas holidays it can wait.

I think that's a pretty accurate summation of affairs. If Omar doesn't bring in some directors [and it's his call] and let's the whole business go even nearer the dogs, then it's his money he will lose when the admin men come calling [again].

Looking in at this mess my problem is that OK clearly wanted out big style only a few months ago and that his main objective now appears to be to try to claw back the funds he put in.

The last set of directors were trying to get the operation to break even which in itself was a hugh task how on earth do you think you can not only breakeven but also generate a cash surplus to repay nearly £1m? Anyone who thinks you can put money into a SL club and get it back has lost touch with reality.

"I wouldn't wish this situation on anyone. We don't know what's happening and it's the uncertainty that makes it worse.
A direct quote from FC taken from Sky Sports website today.
So it's clear that nobody is providing that openness/transparency that all parties have at one time or another promised. It's frustrating being a supporter but how much more so if you're a player/ coaching staff/ admin staff member?
I'm not holding my breath that the local media will press the owner and the former directors for clarity. No doubt we will be treated to another tale of how well pre season training is going
