I wasn't too disheartened at yesterdays result, you were probably looking at the biggest forward pack against a load of back rows and backs.
I thought the team never gave up and showed great heart and effort.
At the end, I thought the players that put their body on the line deserved a round of applause. Players confidence must be completely shot, yet they still played like their lives depended on it.
I'm not too concerned by their tackling as some on here. Without the big forwards, the opposition never really ran out of breath. Players like Donaldson, Addy and Olbison can only do so much against Crabtree, Kopout and co. Players are trained to tackle the upper body to try and reduce the amount of times the opposition offload, but this requires players coming in in 3's and 4's, but in the end, everyone was too tired.
In the past, I have left Odsal more disappointed, with a much lower deficit in the scoreline.
