Irvine has been tweeting in opposition to Rob "I'm a tool" Studd tonight so that automatically puts him up in my estimation. Irvines tweets and follows also suggest to me his bid (whoever he is involved with) is still very much active.

Not claiming to be ITK, but I've had some (brief) contact with Damian Irvine and his bid is with Richard Lamb unless he has his eggs in more than one basket. What was encouraging for me was that he said that he's kept quiet and will continue to until something is sorted. He said that the fans deserve actions and substance. I got the feeling that although he was involved with Lamb that he's not impressed with how he's approached things.

I'd be confident, nay excited if he ended up in the hot seat.

Yes thats right, and like you I've not been impressed with lamb but Irvine has handled himself well and has the track record so id be pleased if he ended up at odsal. But to be honest I'm beyond hoping for anything in particular or trying to read the signs too much. It'll be what it will be.
