Perhaps they're focusing all their energies into the badly needed Basketball centre. :?

I dont know why we dont just move there permanantley, its a top class stadium with top class facilities.

Just that the set of lazy sh!ts cant be assed travelling an extra 25 mins to get there, or they think there is something remotley magical at the sh!thole in the ground that they cannot bare to leave.

We tried that, it didn't work it only served to annoy home and away fans with the stewarding, crap parking etc!

I didn't much like VP. In 28 years of going to the rugby it's the only place where we've had the car broken into. Away fans didn't like it, crowds dropped, we couldn't put on the pre match stuff we did at Odsal for fear of annoying BCFC and there were no visible signs of the Bulls being part of the set up. BCFC fans whinged about the pitch being messed up and generally the relationship between the two clubs deteriorated. In the end I'm not sure whether it was a sustainable option to stay there.

Despite all that if the choice is move to VP or die then we move to VP. As things stand Odsal definitely isn't a sustainable option as a home at present, it's costing the club too much. If the OSV falls through there are going to be some pretty stark choices. I can't see the club having the cash to develop it themselves. Building another stadium elsewhere is a non starter due to the cash factor. The Park Avenue plan mooted in the press is pie in the sky too once you look into the facts behind the press releases.

The main stumbling block to any move to VP would be that the Bulls are still tied into a contract to stay at Odsal until 2018 IIRC. Getting out of that contract would be a crippling expense. We'd have to pay back much of the cash paid to the club by the Council and I don't see many millions lying around. This is ratepayers money so I can't see the Council just letting us off either unless they could get some cash for Odsal that would cancel out that expense.

So at present we're stuck where we are.

Why are you lot so intent on wasting the time of the good people at Bradford Council?

I mean there is no need for the sporting village as we already have an olympic standard facility at Odsal in the form of RIchard Dunn's

Any way there's no one to read it today as they've all been taken away by Westfield. Currently the gents are playing golf and the ladies are in the spa. Tonight there's a banquet in their honour to say thanks for choosing Westfield - allegedly they may of course be working hard as we all know they do. (does that get me inside the AUP?)

All I'll say on the matter is that my next door neighbour's a free mason

People were just intent on whinging, as for the crowds dropping, It cant have been anyworse than this seasons can it?

I think these are the records. They are not to bad.

Valley Parade

2001 13,000
2002 13,912

2003 14,939

And recently at Odsal

2004 13,495
2005 12,786
2006 11,406
2007 11,779

So after 1 year of being back at the dump that is Odsal, our crowds drop to below anything we had at Valley Parade and guess what, it will go down once again this year. They must be still annoyed at the stewarding and parking I guess.

Lets face it, Odsal is a dieing retched old place, that has lost all atmosphere. Folks are tired of the place, I definatley am. People dont want to come to an old bowl in the ground. Watch the game from distance, walk up 40 steps to get a drink, then another 40 to go to the loo. People dont want to stand on cold concrete and get mickey wet through everytime it rains.

Bradford Bulls need a new home.

Odsal in its current state is not a long term solution.

A new stadium is probably not a valid option due to cost unless city get on board (which they wont for many reasons well discussed, primary of which is that they have no need to move.)

VP is not the solution in the long term. (for many reasons stated elsewhere, but for a kick off my own pet gripe is that the pitch is not even long enough IMO)

I dont know if the OSV will happen or not, but if it does we do all know its not designed to give us all round roofing and spectacular all singing facilities dont we? (new roof and seating on the popular side and some new admin/training facilities as far as I remember - still no roof on the rooley lane end and a reduced capacity)

But its probably our best hope, which is depressing.

Almost as depressing as this topic whenever it appears.
