I've just woken up. I had a really weird dream. I dreamt that the Bulls put in an imcomprehensibly poor performance against a poor side. They even let this side score nearly sixty points and made them look like world beaters. There was only 8000 odd people in the crowd too.
Awful.
Thank god it was only a dream.
I can hear the beginnings of a reasoned excuse unfolding. If you weren't so prolific in terms of posts then we wouldn't be able to hear the cogs spinning. Good as it is to hear, knowing that this takes intellectual effort and you're willing to expend the time, ultimately it's futile.
Let's face facts, we promoted an aspirant young British manager, gave him a reasonable time to prove himself (all very creditable), and he was unable to do so. We now face incomprehensible performances, declining crowds and bottom of the table status for the foreseeable future (Celtic excepted). In addition to which we have a millstone of a stadium, no financial backer with any clout and a gloomy economic environment.
In these circumstances we can stick with what we have based on a financial argument (we can't pay him off) and take the risk of a further decline in attendances, sponsors getting the wobbles, further disinterest amongst the paying public of Bradford etc. Or, we can bite the bullet, pay him off and announce a new era for the Bulls, no saying it will work, but at least it gives us time, creates interest, potentially re-engages the paying public etc.
Much as it sounds very noble to have been the stalwart, cheering the team on in the fog laden days of yesteryear as they slowly went bust, my sense of whats happening now, is that we could get there very quickly and that nobility is a value in scarce supply - why not go for broke and make the change now? It's time McNamara went, step aside, or was demoted, please don't waste any more energy struggling to find excuses.
Sums up how I feel too. Time for McNamara to go. After 10 games this season we're just getting worse, time to stop the rot, or at least attempt to or it will be too late to do anything.
Reading that, I guess the bit that makes me stop and think just a bit is the comment that we had the same players playing 3 games in 8 days. No chance for senior fresh legs, unlike Warrington who brought some key players back. Macca is putting it down to tiredness, and says the game was effectively over early doors (which we all saw too). Maybe we'll see how true that is or was next week and with maybe some fresh legs?
But otherwise, although it puts some of what Macca was quoted as saying last night in better context (Craven quotes more fully than the PA report did) as a fan I struggle to see much to inspire me right now.

Surely if we were tired then we would still have been in it early doors and fallen away later. They guy need to come out and say what he truly thinks about the players because keeping any criticism behind closed doors is not working.

Can only agree. And Wire were making six or seven yards in pretty well every tackle driving the ball forward before we managed to stop them - right from the word go.

That's rubbish. It was only a couple of days ago that McNamara was telling everyone that we were in tip top condition, and ready for the Wire game.
It's the same poor excuses everytime. Macca has to go.
