Possibly, through gritted teeth, trying to think of a way to extricate himself from the very deep, dark and dank hole he has dug for himself without compromising his nasty little agenda? It may be too much to hope that he has trod the Road to Damascus, but we've already seen one miracle so you never know...
Well, whatever happens next, I'd say that beating the reigning champions with a patched-up squad, no captain, no goal kicker, no vice captain, etc etc is conclusive proof that McNamara can coach.

No doubt not, ever, in some flat-earthers' closed minds. But it may have given a few of the fans in the NT (note emphasis) pause for thought, maybe more so if we can now kick on from here.

You were the better team on the night no complaint's at all.
But to use that as an endoresment for mcnamara is a bit ott imo.
You won that on gut's,adrenalin and luck none of which come's from mcnamara imo.
You must be so gutted tonight, you defeatist negative sanctimonious excuse of a Quisling.
Eh? Why would that be then?
The performance was there last night. The effort was outstanding, the players did very well and it was a terrific result. The likes of Halley, Worrincy (!), Sheriffe and Jeffries were terrific and the side pulled off a wholly unexpected win that MAY kick-start the season and they (and McNamara) deserve all the praise they will get after the game.
However, they now need to push on and prove that it was not just a case that managed to raise our game against our derby rivals and that it was a one off. I could also ask where that performance had been for the rest of the season.
Credit where it is undoubtedly due, the team proved me (and more than a few others) wrong last night. Hopefully I will be eating a lot more humble pie in the following weeks.

Totally agree FA. A good point, not that his detractors will agree.
However, just for a bit of balance and to help your argument, what do the Wigan capitulation, the Castleford collapse and the early cup exit following another major bottling mean?
