But seriously, how long does it take for Deacon to be dropped?

10 years.

I know. I was commenting on the same 19 rather than LMB's thoughts.

I reckon his best position is in the reserves where he currently is.

Did you watch the Cas reserve game? I know it's a real step up to SL level, but he was playing extremely well, more like the Platt we saw in the first 6 months of his contract.

No I didn't but that proves my point - he looks good at that level and therefore it must be his best position.

You've got me there. We really can't keep Sykes at centre though, the revolving door comment somebody made sums up his defensive game. i suppose it wouldn't be as bad at stand-off.

Tbf Platt's defence is pretty solid and is at least twice that of Sykes.

I just think that based on last weeks performances that Sykes and Deacon would be dropped. If Crookes wasn't injured this would be the perfect opportunity for him.

problem is they are best two kickers so one of them needs to play, I know sam can kick as well but he hasnt had much practice lately. on balance I'd drop deacon, switch sykes to standoff ( where any defensive lapses are more easily covered) with jeffries at halfback and menzies at Centre. I agree that platt is better defensively than sykes but think his confidence is a bit shot at the moment and menzies would help settle sheriffe down a bit. If rinaldi was in squad then I'd drop godwin too as he was useless last week.

true but he did the same headless chicken routine that was his trademark before he got injured. lack of gametime would explain lack of fitness, not the daft plays he was making. no coincidence that cas's purple patch at beginning of 2nd half was when wagga was on and only came to an end when terry returned imo.
