Widnes in those days, of course, were famous for one spectacular play, featuring Stuart Wright.
You'd just be cheering your defence for putting in super set of tackles and restricting the Chemics to a few measly yards when Reggie Bowden would put in a long, speculator of a kick for the corner, which was chased by the aforementioned Mr Wright - the ball would bobble and scud along the ground before finally catching its end and jumping up into his hands for him to touch down, without breaking stride, in the corner [or under the posts, dependent on the chase back....].
This phenomenon was known throughout the English speaking world as "the Stuart Wright Bounce"....
I still refer to "the Stuart Wright Bounce" today, but bloody kids nowadays don't know what I'm on about..

"If you start listening to the fans it won't be long before you're sitting with them," - Wayne Bennett.
My “favourite” Widnes team was that great side that won the title in ’89. They had it all, a powerful, scary, skilful and incredibly quick side. They were great to watch and played the game with style if you like it fast, skilful and tough. I was utterly amazed when we drew with them at Odsal and amazingly beat them on their own ground when we were fighting to stay up that year.
Tait, Davies, Currier, Wright, Offiah, Myler, D,Hulme, Sorensen, McKenzie, Grima, O’Neill, Koloto, Eyres as a starting 13 was awesome.

Makes me sad when people mention that great 89 team I never got to witness, maybe one of the best of the decade ?
Now were stuck with Jon Clarke and Chris Dean ha
Hope you bring a few on Sunday, looking for a Widnes win if I'm honest but definitely wouldn't rule out a Bulls one

Yep. Amazing to witness that team tear apart one of the best ever Canberra teams (inc Daley, Meninga, Ferguson, Lazarus etc) at Old Trafford.

Are we able to pay on the away gate on Sunday? I'm on call so going to risk it haha, I paid on gate last year just wanted to make sure it was the case.

You'll have to go to the office to buy a ticket at £23. Best to get one from the Bulls at £20 - 10% of which goes to the Bulls.
