Re: Super 8s The Qualifiers Game 4: Widnes at Home : Thu Sep 03, 2015 4:38 pm
The bookies on average have the odds on this game around 1/5 Widnes, Bradford 7/2. If you fancy us its 9/2 with SkyBet and Stan James. Regardless of form, 9/2 is not a bad price in any 2 horse race. I suppose it represents a reasonable assessment of lightning striking twice!I am sure that Widnes should be strong favourites, but think that our underdog tag is another thing in our favour, and another way to look at the odds is the bookies actually think we could beat Widnes in around one game in four. I will go to the game confident that this will be that one game in four, and I hope the players do too. As a SL club, Widnes "should" have been 1/10 and the fact they are not should also be gnawing away at them.
Can i just point out that if you put £100 on Salford @ 1/4 and also put £20 on Halifax @ 21/4 and then oddly enough you are guaranteed a fiver profit unless it's a draw. Put a £1 on a draw at 33/1 and you have all bases covered but cut your guarantee to £4
