Swings and roundabouts. Any disadvantage there is made up by the fact that Bradford will have an extra days recovery and preparartion before the million pound match than Wakefield will. I doubt given the issues Wakey have had with their players this last week there will be any resting of players going on anyway.

Bradford City at home at the same time has made it a difficult dilemma for a number of supporters.

As I'm sure you know we don't have the biggest of squads, Saturday night against Fax for various reasons we had twelve players unavailable for selection, come this weekend with the possible exception of a couple of them nothing will change, and it's unlikely we will be in a position to rest anybody.

Don't know much about what squad you have available, but if it was the other way round, I would be furious if we knew we didn't have to win the game and then didn't rest key players with knocks ahead of our biggest game ever. Wakefield would be stupid not to take advantage of the prior knowledge if they could.

If we win then yes we have an extra day and it puts some pressure on Wakefield to win their game.

Anyway, regardless of where the advantage ends up being it is still a nonsense decision precisely because there is advantage to be gainied by one team. Mostly I am annoyed because I now can't make the game!

Short notice changes of game day really winds me up, especially when arrangements have already been made to make the game. Never mind, I'll record it and save myself £27 for my seat and ,£5 for my granddaughters free seat. I guess the paymaster calls the tune.

Look, first it is just ridiculous, and appears churlish, berating the rules of a comp that everyone knew before it began. But mainly, the advantage isn't "being gained" by a "decision". The home advantage has been EARNED by the 4th placed team, where it should be earned, on the pitch.

And as it turns out,in effect Wakey earned that right when they spanked us in said playoffs.

Criticisms might more sensibly be levelled at the handicap Championship clubs face in having to beat a SL team with half the money, THAT's where the real and almost unsurmountable disadvantage is, and was always going to be.

I have no issue with 4th placed being at home this time around as those are the rules currently. I just wonder if we're missing a trick by not making this match into a bit more of an event at a nuetral ground. Somewhere like LSV, Halliwell Jones or maybe even Headingly. Just my thoughts.

Guess it's something to be considered for the future - and wouldn't be a bad idea, imo - but for this year, as far as I'm concerned, we all knew what the situation was before the season kicked off, so let's just get on with it!

Whilst I can see your point surely it makes it irrelevant as to whether you finish 4th or 5th. At least this way it keeps more interest as if not both you and Wakey could rest as many players as you wish this coming weekend. Home advantage in the Million £ game is probably one of the things the RFL have got right.
