He was never going to take Featherstone to super league. No one was though. Not lending 4 leeds players everyweek and the budget they was spending.

Think people are forgetting we are in league 1. He can get us out of league 1 and spend a couple of seasons getting us to top 4. After that we make a decision.

I don’t think anyone is forgetting what league we are in. Personally I don’t feel like we should just be happy to have anyone because we are in L1. Personally I hope it’s just papertalk and we have a few other options in the mix. Perhaps a decent up and coming coach who really wants to make a name for themselves... oh hang on.. we sacked him off for super coach Toovey!!

Sounds like its a done deal. Guess its a wait and see job. You can make a case for and against him. Hope Lee Greenwoood is his assitant.

Please no. Isn't that journalist a Halifax fan? Hopefully he's just trolling us.

He is, but Aaron bower has been on Twitter saying he's heard similar and I trust his opinion, and that toovey is not coming back.

Really not sure about this appointment if true.

At least Jon Sharp might actually want to be here, unlike Captain Indecisive.

I've been saying for months I didn't want Toovey coming back. This is good news IMO. I'll happily give Sharp a chance before I condemn him on his coaching abilities. As far as signing people with questionable morals, we just spent half a season with Scott Moore as our captain, so I think that ship has sailed.

Re: Jon Sharp lead candidate for new coach : Tue Nov 14, 2017 10:32 pm
Toovey was introduced as the messiah - but he didnt deliver us from the valley of death.
I'm happy for us to give Jon Sharp a shot at coaching us.
I dont care what baggage he brings with him - its results on the pitch that determine whether we go up or down in this league.
I dont care if he puts his pants on his head sticks pencils up his nose and says "wibble wibble" if he gets us promoted he will have done better than the last handful of coaches we've had.

It's true, the best coach for us in 2018 is one that;
1) wants to coach us
2) gets us promoted

Everything else is a distant 3rd. If that's Jon sharp, so be it. We really can't afford to be hanging around in league 1.

Not convinced but i'll give him a chance before writing him off.

I don't think it is an appointment which will help to shift season tickets. So now we know he won't be staying, it's fair to say the Toovey thing was a complete waste of time. (I'm tired and it has been a long day so maybe I am being harsh.....)

Short to medium term he'll be OK. He will help get us out of Ch1 and maybe the top (ish of Championship). then IF things change and we go up to SL at some stage, he will try at the top level and find his own level. Mid table, because he will struggle to sign the best players.
It's an interesting one.
