I've turned it into a poll in case anyone can't be faffed actually writing anything. Which given this forum is like a graveyard on the moon at the moment, is very likely.
The other thing to consider - has he signed a F/T or P/T deal? Does he have outside interests now? Even the most expensive P/T deal in the championship is in the £15-20k pa range. One of the benefits of going P/T - only 2-3 training sessions per week (easier on the body), in the late afternoon/evening with us, allows time during the day for another job.

Have you rigged the poll so I can't vote no? Thus forcing me to write something
Depends what the clubs aspirations are. If we're aiming for mid table then why sign him at all? He won't be cheap. If we're genuinely aiming for top 4 or promotion them I'm afraid to say I don't think he's good enough.
I think even at this stage of his career he's good enough for top 4 of championship. My worry would be injuries given his age. Could see him missing big chunks of season out injured. If he's coming for a reduced wage as mentioned in article then could be a good signing and pass a lot on to Lilley in terms of guile and game management. Article talks about 2 or 3 extra signings for next year on top of retaining this years squad. Given this years squad was already threadbare due to budget RFL agreed to surely they'll allow us a bigger budget next year?. Personally think we're 5 or 6 players off top four quality.
Either way it’s a strong pointer that somebody is at least planning for the next two years with both Kear and Brough signing two year deals. That alone is a good sign when plenty will be worried given the current crisis
Happy with this signing. Only downside is how he copes with injuries at 37. But in our position its a good signing and a risk worth taking imho to go along with the kear extension. As has been said, at least it shows planing and realistic amibition from the club, which is all i can hope for really at the moment.
Plus, we should get plenty of field advantage with the size of the dews pitch and brough's kicking game!
