I have a memory of him playing for York in Toronto on Premier Sports last season. I seem to remember he played very well, although I've slept a few times since then so I could be confusing him with someone else.
He scored a hat trick in that match. Finished as York's joint top scorer last season, while at York his try scoring feats were pretty incredible, always seemed to finish half chances, good support play. However his defence and positioning under the high ball needed a lot of work.
I believe the reason he didn't stay at York was because the coach expects players to train 3 times a week and apparently he struggled with that. I guess when you're a part time player it's difficult to commit to so many training sessions a week but the club set the bar high.
Ironically in the 2 York-Hunslet matches this season I thought his defence and catching had really improved yet he looked to have lost half a yard of pace and didn't look anywhere near as dangerous near the try line.
Best of luck anyway DFJ!
