It does sound like it could be Dane "Danger" Neilson.

Won an NRL Premiership and played origin.

Didn't have a good time at NZ Warriors. Got sacked by St George for an off field indiscretion.

Looking for a route back into the game. Definitely good enough for SL. Has been pants for a year or so. Probably affordable.

Guess we'd better return to this thread to discuss the Bulls new signing after the excitement of deadline day. I am now convinced that the mystery signing is Dane "Danger" Nielsen after waking up with the clue #Highvoltage going tunefully round my head. We even know what song they will play after announcing his name on match day. It's from Electric Six song "Danger! High voltage". I can't believe it didn't click earlier. Hopefully he won't be going around kissing people, although it does sound like he likes a little nibble. He's not been good for a few years so hopefully a change will do him good. If it is Nielsen, it doesn't sound like he's played since March?

Hull Fc has just signed a new stand off for next season. I wonder if we manage to go up that it would open the door for Leon to come back,a good candidate for captain too. Wishful thinking maybe?!

I won't be impressed if it is Nielsen that we've signed. The guy is bang average and only won all those medals because he was lucky to be playing in a storm side full of superstars.
I don't like to see any english team signing up 30 year old aussies looking for a paycheck, so it hurts even more when we're the ones doing it.

Is it possible that he is the bloke and the five day delay is due to those, "off-field issues", maybe causing visa problems? It wouldn't be the first time we've had an Aussie knocked back due to that.

That assessment doesn't really stack up when he's played 3 Origin games as well. And given the lower cap in the Championship, I doubt he's going to be earning huge sums coming to us. I've no problem with sides signing 30 year old Aussies if they're coming over to perform. Beaver Menzies did a pretty sound job for us!

But be prepared to be unimpressed!

I think we have to be realistic. At this stage we don't even know which league we're going to be in next season

Given that slight 'issue', I think we've done pretty well to get someone with State of Origin and Grand Final experience (assuming its actually him, of course)
