Pickersgill is a promising player but if he and McNally are both fit then it's McNally every time for me.

I'm not sure it's quite so clear cut.

Just judging McNally on his time at the Bulls, he's had his good games, for sure but spent a great deal of time injured and been pretty average in far too many games for someone who came with a big (and admittedly) deserved rep for his time at Leigh. I'll accept that McNally MAY well be much better with a after a good pre-season, etch etc, but Pickers has been mucked about position wise, has never been worse than good (where ever he's played) and often been brilliant and has shown a constant, steady improvement over the season, and he is also much the younger with a lot of, still unfulfilled, potential.

Also supposed to be losing Anthony Thackeray. There is rumours of a decent offer from Sheffield for him who seem to be throwing a bit of coin about.

But Fev have signed the Boas brothers, PNG international half backs as well as keeping Ridyard and signing young kid Punchard from Oz who was previously with Halifax. I'm sure if Brandon is in talks with them it has to be as full back as they have more options for the halves than we do

Anyway, things have took a twist and we may be not needing to look for a replacement after all

The "if fit" part of it is key. As you say McNally has missed a few games and has played a few when it seems clear he's not fully fit. I think that's linked to him not having a proper pre season for some time.

As backup and to have competition for places I'd say Pickersgill is our best option.
