Seems pretty clear cut to me?

And in case there is a suggestion that its down to bad English, or maybe not putting some of that in quotes to make it clear that he was reporting not expressing his own opinion, there was opportunity to clarify when instead he said:

It was still Murray's language, not Kifaru's. Kifaru can agree with the phrase without actually saying it.
